why am i allergic to benadryl

why am i allergic to benadryl? I get an anzy feeling and feel like something in crawly under my skin.
 
Hi folks! You could be having what is called a paradoxical reaction to a med. I know that I can't take Versed when having a colonoscopy. Instead of being sedated, I get corabative and manic, nearly jumping off the table. I do know that some kiRAB get agitated when taking Benadryl--just their young systems. Another possibility could be the red food dye in the capsule. Just my two cents!--Hopeto--
