Who's to Blame for the Gulf Oil Spill?

I agree with the government staying out of the problem. So where do you stand on Obama not giving the states the go ahead to start working on what they need to do to protect their coast lines?
 
I need proof of that before I make further statements of it. If the fed. is blocking any potentially effective methods to stopping it, then shame on them. At this point it isn't going to harm to try just about anything.
 
If everyone in the world stopped buying fuel it wouldn't be too long before they starved to death.
 
are you fucking kidding me ? The way that is written, the regulators were required until Cheney came along. BUT in reality, they never were required. They've been around since 1993, so Clinton's admin could have required them too. Are we going to blame him ? no, that would be fucking stupid. Just like this claim.



So you agree, the govt watchdogs were horrible. That's why Conservatives generally don't like big govt. They are filled with retards, criminals, bribery, etc...
 
Why don't they just hook up a giant ass hose to it, weld it on, and have that hose hook up to a huge ass tanker that will siphon it out. It would be a huge effort to keep transporting the oil......but hey it stops the pollution!
 
wtf ? There isn't that much new oil left on land, they have to drill in the ocean to keep up with demands.

Oh, and BTW, she was the Director of US Department of Interior's Mineral Management Service from July 15, 2009 – May 27, 2010 ... ENTIRELY under the Obama Administration.

Every part of it's construction relies on an oil based products. Sorry.


I get the feeling that people like you who run on emotions really hasn't sat down and looked at just what is made with oil in our lives.
fuel for cars is actually a small percentage. You can't get rid of it for trucks as there is nothing else that would work for hauling heavy loads.


It's not an addiction, it's a necessity for our lives now. I gave you just a small list of things that require oil in their manufacture. It's probably a good time to look around and start realizing that without oil, our country comes to a complete standstill and goes back to the stone age.

for the rest, about 40 % of oil use in the US is for cars and light trucks.

You people make me sick. The government needs to stay the hell out of this and any other problems our nation has.
 
Let me put it bluntly.

If you are going to "live without oil" then you're literally going to be living naked in a mud hut. (I'd say log cabin but I doubt you could handle the labor involved in making one from scratch )
 
One of the government's only uses is to protect the environment. Considering this spill could have considerable environmental impact I think it's appropriate that the government do everything in its power to limit the amount of damage.
 
read my other post. This goes beyond a messy oil slick for BP to take care of themselves. they'll clean it up and move on soon enough.
