Who's Getting EVDO via OTASP?

I can only get it via manually loading the 1050 PRL. :doh:

try changing shat your device is listed as...change it to a phone that you know they are pushing evdo to...i can change it if you do not have access to the system... :buddies:
 
randomwit. how can you get that changed?

noone at CS will do it, and the manager who usually does things like that for me was sent to santa fe to a corporate store there
 
ok. so i think that it being listed as an evdo capable phone is not enough. i think it must be a native cricket esn for it to give you an evdo prl. this will not stop you from using evdo if you load the phone yourself. i was able to use u740 (listed as KRZR) with evdo but *228 would only give me 1040.
 
:doh: my computer almost bricked my damn q today with that hdr thru hex editing, i know i have evdo in this area i am in but i still havent been successful with the hex edits.
 
actually...if you are in houston, then no evdo yet...i just confirmed with a corporate rep while i was setting up a 700wx for him...he says that they have the equipment in place in much of the city but they have not "flipped the switch" yet...they need to hurry though...
 
I have been successful with EVDO in Houston for about the past week now. Do a manual PRL load with 1050, and EV comes right up. My account is setup for RAZR. The *228 will push down the 1040 prl for me. But, it will work with a non cricket ESN.
 
thanks...i've just confirmed that cricket corporate reps don't know **** about their own system...i loaded the 1050 prl and i'm 100% go...the evdo has bad latency, the sig cuts out and then picks back up...it's about the same as 1x from start to finish...BAWLS!!!!!
 
Same here in PDX, only difference is pdx evdo has been aval for some time now and still sucks. This has to be a cricket network issue. Whats the point of evdo when 1x passes it by most of the time because of the evdo page load hang issue. HOPE CRICKET WORKS OUT THE BUGS SOON.
I have to hit refresh alot and hope I hit the jackpot with a page load to kick 1x ***. Evdo is faster some times but not very consistant.
 
if you want to know about the network don't ask the reps. ask a switch tech. the reps are trained for handling customer issues. and since EVDO has not officially launched there... that's probably all they actually know.
 
just configured my wifi router (finally had a reason) and evdo works way better on my notebook than on my mogul...also i can access https sites...ROCK!!!!!!!
