who'll play the joker in the next batman film

Its great to know that the joker will be in the next batman film because the scarecrow and the shadows weren't very good badguys .

But this film kicks the crap out of all the batman films except the very first one which had micheal keation as batman and its going to be a hard job for the next joker when jack nicholsion played the orignal.

Didn't the joker kill batmans parents from what i remember in the keaton film its was the joker.

Best film of the year so far.
 
I thought that Batman Begins was a much better film than Batman as it was more loyal to the comics and much darker. Although I have to amit that Jack Nicholson was a great Joker!
In the comics it was Joe Chill who killed Bruce Waynes parents but Tim Burton changed it for Batman but Christopher Nolan was loyal to the comics as decieded to go back to the proper version!
The favourite at the moment to play the joker is an unknown Australian actor called Lachy Hulme. Also some other names mentioned are Crispin Glover and Mark Hamill!
 
I've never seen a batman movie....so I wouldnt know....but on other forums people are saying Tim Curry would make a good joker. I dunno...just my two cents. I just love Tim, so any new role is fine by me!! :)
 
Apparently Christopher Nolan wants Guy Pierce as Two Face, and as for Sean Penn as Joker, I don't mind at all.



Vincent Cassel would be perfect in appearence, but he would have to lose the accent very well. I love Cassel.
 
Philyb - just a heaRAB up. I posted this exact same thread just yesterday, only the MoRAB removed it after an FM complained it was a spoiler. I contacted the MoRAB, explaining that as it's mentioned on several websites - including Sky News - that the Joker is in the next film, it's hardly secret news, plus anyone who cares enough to see Batman Begins would be in no doubt by the end of the film what the second one's about, so hopefully they'll be more leniant with your thread.

On who'll play him, Christian Slater is the closest actor to Nicholson, but I'm guessing Nolan won't go down that road. I reckon Jude Law could pull it off and I'd love to see him in the role.
 
is the joker definately in the next one? ive seen the film and know about the joker card but wasnt sure if that was going to lead into the first batman movie or not?
 
Poison Ivy was played by Uma Thurman.

Also, Did anyone ever hear the rumour that was going around before the final cast of Batman Begins was announced that The jokers Wife, Rather than the joker would make an appearance in the movie and that the favourite for the role was madonna?
 
I had never thought of Christain Slater as the Joker but after thinking about it he is a good choice. However gashead I think you have lost it to think that Jude Law would be a good choice as that would ruin the sequel. However I do think Christopher Nolan is thinking more of a unknown actor to play The Joker!
 
Sam Rockwell would be great. He's a great chracter actor, good at clowning and ace at playing psychos - just watch him in The Green Mile. Hamill's too old I think.
 
Hey, stranger things have happened. I can see the heart of a psychopath beating beneath that pretty boy exterior. I'm thinking back to his performances in AI and Road To Perdition.

Remember, hardly anyone thought that Keaton would make a good Batman but he made a pretty good job of it.
 
I am sure that Guy Pierce was linked to the role of Bruce Wayne/ Batman before Christain Bale was cast in Batman Begins. I think it is just because he has worked with Christopher Nolan on Memento that his name keeps on coming up for parts!
All that has been confirmed at the moment is that Harvey Dent/ Two Face and The Joker will appear in the sequel to Batman Begins but nobody has been cast yet!
 
It'd probably never happen, but I think Christopher Eccleston, would make a pretty good Joker, he has the look, could pull of the psychotic act as well as the accent, I think his fresh from being turned down for The Da Vinci Code *role went to Paul Bettany* could be signed up! :)
 
Did I read somewhere that Justin Timberlake would be in the next Batman film? God, please don't let that be true - I can't stand that little twerp!!
 
didn't mean to spoil the film for anyone sorry if i did.

Could see slater as the joker but would never want to see any of the actors that were baddies in the last 2 batman films forever and batman and robin. before begins to play baddies beacuse they were so awul.
