Thinking back on part of my younger days of cinema, and was watching Ghostbusters. I remember watching this at the cinema and being literally blow away with it, and how good it was, being released as a big Christmas film to run against Gremlins (also VERY cool).

Venkman (Murray) was a character you can identify with, and his buffering against the straight laced Peck ("yes, this man has no dick " scene is a classic)

Then was Ghostbusters II, knocked on release as being weaker than the original, well it was, but still enjoyable and went to see it, and took my younger brother and sister to see it (I swear they only liked going to the pics with me cos of the McDonalRAB)

GB2, was great, we got the wonderful Ms Weaver in her bra, gallons of ouze and great jokes !

For a long while there has been speculation about a Ghostbusters 3, but never come to anything, there was even talk of Evolution was orignially a plot for Ghostbusters (Ivan Reitman apparently has said this)

So really after the babbling, what are your thoughts about the films, and do you think or would like to see a Ghostbusters 3 ?
 
Well, im 17 and until about 6 months ago i had only ever seen ghostbusters 2. It used to be on ALL the time on TV but i never seemed to see the original. However when i saw it i thought it was a bit boring to be honest.

I'd also like to add that the second film really REALLY creeped me out, infact even thinking about it now it creeps me out slightly. I still have no idea how it got a PG rating or whatever....that bit with the train and the decapitated heaRAB! not to mention the river of red goo, evil demonic painting, that guy who turns evil and has eyes that see through stuff (forgotton his name but that was creepy too!), the weird nanny thing that takes oscar and flies away..!

Oh, and may i add when i first saw it i hated going to the bathroom because of the locks! (the photography/fire/locks closing scene) and then running a bath! (evil giant red toungue!)

Apparently it's Bill Murray that is refusing to do another one as he just thinks there's nothing to add..
The other principal players refuse to make one without him, so i don't beleive there will ever be another one.

Not that I really mind, though, as GB2 was so much worse than the first one that it can only go down hill.
 
The thing stopping the others doing GB3 without Bill Murray isnt so much they dont want to do it without him BUT that they CANT do it without him. Bill Murray actually has a stake in the ownership of the francise and without his ok gb3 cant be made
 
Bill Murray and Ivan Rietman own the rights to the Ghostbusters franchise so as wakey said, they cant do a number 3 unless they buy him out (which looks unlikely)
