Not as likely as you'd think. China has this shit in the bag (sharing a border, Afghan/US relations)....unless they really fuck something up.

Quantify how much 'improvement' they will get. Base it on a percentage and it will be like .0000000000000000000001% of the profits will go to them.
 
No matter how you slice it, this is bad for most a lot of the world. A lot of dangerous ass people down there are about to get an influx of funding.

Maybe a tiny amount. Take ONE LOOK at Africa who has had this exact situation come up numerous times. It's a clusterfuck and no, the infrastructure does not benefit more than a blip on the radar.
 
closes allied we have is the pakis and that side of afghan is a mess. so using those roads to transport equipment is a no no. china has the easiest access but the terrain is mountainous and they also have a muslim minority to the west to deal with.
