Who Were The Best Bands Of 90s Britpop?

The Verve releasing an album, the Sex Pistols working on new material and Led Zeppelin possibly reuniting for new material. Life is good.

Most britpop I could take or leave.

That said, I like some Blur once in a while, and I love Pulp. Pulp are easily my favourite.

Do you class the Stone Roses as "britpop"? If you do, then I love them as well.

oasis and the verve.
can anyone outside the UK tell me if they ever heard the verve?
They were here and gone in a flash but were bloody brilliant.

No it is Sonnet and it shows how you pick their best known tracks to make out you know them by reading it in some music magazine.
It is Sonnet.

Oasis, you can put all of Blur's albums inculding Parklife against (What's the Story) Morning Glory and they don't even come close. And The Stone Roses are great too!

No Stone Roses were a little earlier and their debut was more mellow than what is usually associated with Britpop. I suppose Britpop could easily read Guitar-pop.

The Verve. Yes, I dont remeraber the particular song. It must have been a good song because I remeraber the band.

Seeing as Bitter Sweet Symphony got to nuraber 12 on the US charts its pretty safe to say people have heard of them outside the UK.

LOL. Is that supposed to be provocative? Anyway, your argument is flawed. Sonnet wasn't any less known than Lucky Man. Actually by being their last release before they promptly disappeared, it's more likely to be remerabered than the latter if anything.

As it happens, I had totally forgot about the song Sonnet until you mentioned it now. I don't think it was one of the best Verve songs. Just overplayed radio rock. I stand by Lucky Man being their best song.
