Who was your favorite news anchor?

Walter Cronkite. I remember how his voice and facial expression when he announced the death of JFK.
Huntley Brinkley second

I watched Walter Cronkite remove his glasses, and cry as he told us President Kennedy had died from an assassins bullet on November 22, 1963. I was 6 years old.

After he passed, I switched to NBC and John Chancellor, then Tom Brokaw, and now Brian Williams.

Jim O'brien, he was a weather man in philadelphia.
You may know his daughter, she plays Roz on Frasier.
jim was killed when she was just a kid in a sky diving accident.
The city was in shock. jim was just so cute and funny, everyone adored him.

Fahey Flynn was my favorite newsman. He worked in Chicago from 1941 until his death in1983 at age 67. From 1953 to 1968, he was an anchor for WBBM-TV. He then joined Joel Daly as co-anchor at WLS-TV, and by 1971 the pair had become Chicago's highest-rated broadcasting team. Chicagoans were very fond of Fahey Flynn.

I have to go w/ "Cronkite". Lyndon Johnson once expressed how Cronkite's editorial against the Viet Nam war moved his decisions.
Noreen Cronkite worked for me while I was in San Diego ... she spoke affectionately about Uncle Walter.

When the news scared me or made me nervous I would seek out the report of Eric Sevareid. He seemed to report the facts without the sensationalism.
