Who was the better Excel?

The first 13 episodes of the Excel Saga anime had Jessica Calvello voicing Excel, but because voicing Excel was straining her vocal corRAB (Excel is a fast talker, after all), Larissa Wolcott (usually in dubs on ADV's other studio, Monster Island) replaced her of the second half.

Now one thing I haven't heard is; who was the better Excel?

Jessica Calvello or Larissa Wolcott?
 
Calvello of course. She made me believe that Excel could be dubbed, capturing the crazy, rapid-fire, high strung delivery that make the character rather enjoyable.

Wolcott does a fair job as well. She's not quite Calvello but she tries. She's just not... Calvello, and it shows.
 
I think both were good albeit different. I think both were kind of not as good as the Japanese voice. I thought Calvello's voice was a bit too low and raspy.

I thought Monica Rial was pretty much perfect as Hyatt though.
 
I enjoyed Calvello's take and took to it immediately, and the changeover was a bit jarring, but I adjusted to Walcott after a few episodes, and thought she was great through the end.
 
That wasn't Luci Christian; that was Monica Rial. In fact, Luci wasn't involved in the Excel Saga production at all.

Anyway, I vote for Calvello of course, but Wolcott was by no means BAD. After all, she was still able to speed read and had some funny deliveries. But her Excel voice was a bit more scratchy and high-pitched.
