When I look at the statistics for the 2 players Jordan seems to have the edge on Career Averages in terms of:

1) Points per game.
2) Field Goal Percentage.
3) Blocks per game.
4) Steals per game.
5) Assists per game.
6) Rebounds per game.
7) Championships won.
8) Fewer Turnovers per game.

But, Kobe does have the advantage in terms of Free Throw Percentage (Kobe= 83.9% vs. Jordan= 83.5%).

Lots of people actually think Kobe is the better player. What do you think?

Great players are measured by how they performed in big games, especially championships. With this in mind, MJ is the better player, he was able to put the team on his back whenever they needed it.

Micheal Jordan is the best basketball player ever. You never here about how Micheal Jordan is a ball hog and wants to get traded to the bulls because he doesnt like it in LA. Bouhoo kobe isnt happy. No MJ has never done that. You dont here about MJ getting into fights with SHAQ and making him go to the heat. Kobe yells at Phil Jackson all the time and MJ is a good person. Doesnt take his frustration out on teammates and coaches. And look at all those stats that MJ is better in. MJ rules and kobe is a bum

People who think Kobe is better are just kids. They probably began watch basketball post 2000 think that Kobe is the best.

But Kobe also has a few advantages on the stats. Kobe played with a no-handcheck rule, defensive 3 second violation, and the restricted area. When asked how many point would Jordan have scored a game using today's rules, Phil Jackson replied, "45."

In that case, Jordan would have scored 45 ppg and shot 60%. Pippen would be more accurate too, so more assists for Jordan. Being that Jordan was DPOY when people actually played defense, Jordan would have more blocks, steals, rebounds. Also because people actually played defense in Jordan's days, Jordan would also now average less turnovers.

Jordan has Kobe totally beat yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
