Who to complain too about a dentist?

I went to a dentist last Nov. I was never scared of a dentist to now. I’ll try to make this story as short as I can. This dentist did such a bad job and messed up while performing his work that I ended having to have my tooth pulled. Week later I was in such bad pain from an infection from this dentist work that I went back to him. This guy drilled and drilled some more in my mouth. At the end this dentist said to me maybe I should go to the hospital because there is nothing eals he can do for me. And I ended up in the hospital with a really bad inaction having to have IVS and shots in order to kill the infection. Like a moron I went back to this guy and paid him $600. For dentist for that missing tooth. This guy preformed started to perform work in my mouth with no gloves on. The dentures do not fit in my mouth at all and I am now seeing a new dentist who is making me a new denture. I am so mad over this dentist poor work and paying him $600. For something I can’t even wear. So my question is who can I call to get back my money? I do not want to call this dentist again because I am too freaked out to call or go there ever again. And should I sue this guy or just let his poor work go?
 
I am sorry you had this happen to you. Your best course of treatment is to file a claim with the State board. (provided you live in the U.S.)

Another idea is to write a letter to his office and ask for a full refund, detailing your experience and anything that your new dentist may have said regarding your prior treatment. If his office refuses, advice them that you will seek legal counsel. I am not one to recommend suing a dentist, but in this case, it may be justified.

You may also want to settle for a partial refund. Sometimes the dentist is more willing to go this route because he has a lab to pay (it was not the labs fault for your ill fitting denture).
