Another $5000.00 Repair.

...water pump in crank case GOOD? Average repair price for job in my area is $5000.00 Plus. Many replies last week. Thanks. Many people responded with about there autos that weren't simuliar in design at all. If you buy a chrysler product you shouldn't be getting a Mitisubitsi Galiant.

When engineers design something as stupidly as that, it's almost like they were trying as hard as they could to make people never want to buy another Chrysler product again.

There are so many federal rules and regulations in the auto industry with regards to safety and crash-worthiness etc., that you'd think there would also be some rule/law/regulation that required auto manufacturers to make consumable parts on the engine reasonably accessible (like...on the outside of the motor....) so consumers would never have to spend $5000 to change a part that WILL have to be changed within the car's engineering lifespan goal of 150,000 mi.

The Chrysler 2.7 is the engine to avoid at all costs according to the blogs I have been following. Highest incidence of repair in the industry. Does that tell you what mechanics think of the 2.7 engine.
