i ask this because in the source, it says that more americans see this war as less important than other current situations.

I can't believe all the Americans...Seriously guys the war is definitely worth fighting, if we all pull out of there Taliban and Al Qeuda are sure to kill many Afghan citizens for the hell of it, and then what do you think they will do once they have had enough of killing worthless civilians? They will invade America which is your soil so you think to yourselves whether the war is worth fighting or not, Top Military Chief for American Soldiers in Afghanistan said "The Taliban have around 25,000 troops and are very capable of launching a military assault on American soil" So think about that hard and find out whether you guys should help as well.

You must have forgotten what happened back on September 11, 2001. In my opinion, and you asked for it, this war ain't over until bin Laden's diaper wrapped head is on a pike in front of Ground Zero.

"Democracy is worth dying for, because it's the most deeply honorable form of government ever devised by man."
--Ronald Reagan

"Men often oppose a thing merely because they have had no agency in planning it, or because it may have been planned by those whom they dislike." --Alexander Hamilton

Unless the afgan people support the foreign army on their soil and support their government then its a lost cause.

In order for an afgan citizen to get anything done by the government a bribe has to be paid. Afgans now commonly turn to the taliban for impartial justice that cannot be bribed.

We can't win with that situation and we have been there too long for the people living there to change there minds.

Just like with Vietnam the war dragged on not because it could be won but because money was being made by the munitions industry.

The parallel is not exact as Vietnam never attacked our country, and Pakistan has nukes with missles that can knock out our bases in the area. They don't have to use the missles, just drive a truck within a few miles of the bases. Getting out without getting nuked sooner or later would requiere deplomacy. And that means we have to get out of Saudi Arabia, (the cause of all this in the first place).

I DO. Think what you want about Iraq, but we SHOULD be in Afghanistan, we NEED to be in Afghanistan, its where we should have been concentrating all along. And What do you care anyway, the American people aren't at war! The US Military is at war. America is at the mall.

We should fight until every last terrorist in afghanistan is killed, and the government begins restoring itself.

And dark bundy, I agree about not pulling out but the Taliban can not invade the US. They wouldnt be able to step foot on our soil. No country could, especially that little club called the Taliban
