Who should play the next Joker in future Batman/Dark Knight movies?

you already hit on the hobbit, shrek goes 4th comes out in 2010, and spiderman 4 is slated for 2011. Pirates was kind of a story arc that finished up, but i would bet we will see another one within 7 years

and its the fanboys who get the raves cranked up...they start the buzz and do the word of mouth and viral exposures...everyone else is just bandwagoneers..

How about when Val Kilmer took over the role of Batman from Michael Keaton..did the series stop?

If christian bale decides he no longer wants to be batman it won't stop the franchise just pause it... the same with ledger dying... before him most people thought nicholsons joker was the end all (in fact jack himself was peeved that they didn't ask him to revive the role for the Dark Knight) heath ledger proved them wrong...now its up to someone else to step up and take the reigns...its no sleight to ledger...just life goes on..
 
You're assuming there's going to be more than 1 other movie. With the way things are now, a trilogy is virtually guaranteed. But I seriously doubt Nolan would be on for any sort of fourth film - and highly doubtful there would be one at all.
 
No, not that guy. The one that was in that western movie back in the day. I think it was with Bruce Willis. And then he was also in Gangs of New York.

thats where there's a difference. At least the first 2batman movies had Michael Keaton, Gough and Hingle there were no other characters that required an actor to play a recurring role. After that it was "a new take" on the series. Never a "real sequel" such as Begins and DK. As such with this possible 3rd film, like Spiderman. They were all sequel's in a string 1right after another.

Now James Bond is a completely different aspect which shouldn't even be brought up in this discussion. Why? Because James Bond is a code name for a SPY who can be played by anyone. It doesn't have to be the same actor, unlike with this current Batman. Again with Superman, at least they had the same actors.....actually they kept the same actors for the 3biggest roles, Reeves, Kidder and Hackman.

As for Returns.....once again its a new take. If there's a sequel and characters are brought back (Routh is a given) then the same actors should be as well.

Anywho my point is when theres a recurring role, a new actor completely detracts from the movie.
 
Most of the actors named are too big. Depp is way too big for the role. By big, I mean famous. Crispin Glover would be awesome. He is the best choice named. He is quirky and eccentric, not to mention a total spaz... Perfect.
