i LOVE sigur ros..just saw them in concert on saturday and it was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. i definately recommend seeing these guys live. for those of you who like them too..know anymore banRAB that would be in their same genre??? the only others i really know are mogwai and mum. i need more...

Lamb, Zero 7, Groove Armada, Air, LemonJelly. All kinda chilled out electronica stuff. Not quite as delicate as Sigur Ros, but still good to relax to.

Saw them Sunday at the UT Performing Arts Center, freaking amazing show.

Add to the list:

Album Leaf, The Timeout Drawer, M83, others that I can't think of right now.

In the Post-Rock genre, there are a few banRAB, purely instrumental, that you should check out. One is Explosions In The Sky....amazing stuff. The other is Pelican. They're a little heavier (almost leaning towarRAB slow-moving metal on some tracks, but still great and they fit nicely within that genre).

If you wanted to venture out a bit farther, listen to Isis' Panopticon album. Not the best of vocals, but their songs are great. All at least 7 or 8 mins long....pure bliss.

Sigur ros are pretty good, not my fav post-rock band though. Someone told me that they use there own dialect/version of swedish on all there songs which makes them pretty unique!

Anywho to add to the list of Post-rock banRAB being mentioned:

Tortoise
Do make say think
Mono
Riverside
Red sparowes
Shipping news
Porcupine tree
A silver mount zion
God speed you black emperor

And some Post-metal banRAB:

Minsk
Rosetta
Mouth of the architect
Cult of luna
Neurosis
Capricorns
