Who knows best: Fighting the fat

Can't believe he just turned around her getting upset into an admission of guilt on her part. I suspect she was upset because rather than a "wow well done congratulations, we're on the way" he sat there and bollocked her. Prat.

I disagree. I was a bit surprised when he acted disappointed with her over half a stone weight loss!

but I kind of agree with 'sweary bloke' - to lose weight you have to basically get off your fat bum and get on with it!

Anything else is kind of mumbo jumbo IMO.

Oh dear "You've lost weight off your mind" and theres the "long term" line she was preparing right at the start once she realised she wasn't buying into any of it.

I think Emma has a good chance of going on to get rid of a lot of her weight. The other girl however, I'm not so sure about.

He bullied and belittled her and don't forget the crash diet of fruit. Do you honestly believe that she will keep that weight off let alone lose any more once the cameras are gone?

What a prickk

I know, he was honest about that. The crash diet consisted of lots of salad and fruit. You got a problem with that? Really? Get down and give me twenty :p

I thought the personal trainer was really nice actually :o

There was a reference to a diet but it wasn't the "only drink warm lemon tea for a week" type diets.. looked to me like she just had a lot of fruit & veg in her trolly that's all. Nothing wrong with that really.

I think the difference was Emma was exercising right from day 1 and kept up the exercising, where as the other lady was basically just being told if she taps her breasts enough times she won't want that bar of chocolate.. which may work for some people but it wasn't working for her.

The better approach would have been to get to the bottom of how/why she eats.. is it emotional etc, tackle that issue and then give her the tools to remind herself when she feels tempted of the bigger picture. Not tell her if she taps into her bodies magnetic fields she won't want to eat it. It's just unrequired mumbo jumbo. Maybe some people buy into it but she clearly wasn't buying into it.

And no exercise at all other than one dance session at the end? No one loses weight without exercising, not when you're that large. All she had to do was go for some walks. Not sure why Miss Mind Control didn't think of including that. Perhaps that's how she makes her money, doing it all via the mind. Wonder what her success rate is like.

If it was that simple none of us would ever have weight problems.

Weight gain/loss can very often be more about psychological problems than anything else.
