all these things happened to real people, in the recent past. Rosa Parks was this everyday lady who took the bus home from work.
Work for black folks wasn't easy in the day. Clean houses for rich white people, cook for them, take care of their children, do their laundry. any hard work the people didn't want to do for themselves.
One of the Jim Crow laws was that black people had to sit in the back of the bus and had to give up their seat if a white wanted it. Rosa Parks was tired. she said NO I am not getting up.
That took a lot of 'heart' for her to do that.
