Who killed Marilyn Monroe?

I just finished reading an article on Marilyn's death (this month's Playboy mag...which also has a great interview with Pacino and another good read on Super Bowl tix bookies.) I'm not an expert (although I admit to being a Forensic Files junkie), there were a few points that the article brought up that really make me wonder how it could have been classified as an "apparent suicide" and not further investigated as a murder. Though this might be fun to discuss...as I'm sure everyone has an opinion on theory. Feel free to add your thoughts:

1) Her house was completely bugged, under 24/7 surveillance from all sorts of people (FBI, CIA, Hoffa, etc.) So how could no one have heard, or even better, had a tape of what happened that night?

2) The autopsy report was compromised, with a majority of the substances reported "missing"...including that from her stomach (her death, they say, was caused from taking 30-40 pills...but how could that be confirmed without proper testing?)

3) She was planning to re-marry Joe DiMaggio (according to his niece), so the idea of killing herself (and not really leaving a note, or calling him) doesn

I still think she did it. I'm not convinced that anyone else had a hand in it, but I'm prepared to listen to any debate! It's like JFK...

i remember a documentary ages ago. that suggested from eye witness accounts that an ambulance first arrived, then left, then returned.

it may be that she ODd, but this was considered convenient, and so perhaps they didn't do everything they could have to revive her?

some time back i saw a documentary that suggested that the first agents on the scene took the chance to do things to her that the rest of us would consider sick. You got to remember the she was the sex goddess of the day.

I think it was an accident. Donald Spoto's biography of Marilyn has the most plausible theory: her housekeeper gave her a suppository of medication to make her sleep and that's why the pills weren't found in her stomach. Also, when the police turned up the housekeeper had the washing machine on (at about 3 in the morning) as if she had to wash the beRABheets because some of the suppository came out.

I thought it was because MM was having an affair with JFK and he told her of the conspiracies by the Mafia, the CIA and the FBI to kill him, probably because he knew about the alien experiments where they were splicing alien and human DNA to create super soldiers who would fight in World War 3 against the Soviets, who had far better space technology than the Americans, so the Americans were planning to fake the moon landings to "prove" to the world that they had better rocket technology, which they did have anyway because of what they'd learned from the crashed UFO at Roswell, which had been dismantled at Area 51 and its technology was being used to create super spy planes, but now the super spy planes were watching the Kennedies and they saw that JFK was having an affair with Marilyn, bugged her apartment, realised JFK was shooting his mouth off about all these secrets, so they had her killed. Just over a year later, they had JFK killed as well, of course.

Or she could have just killed herself.

JFK's family paid the Mob to kill her off. A leathal injection into the skin around the perinium was administered and Marilyn was no more. I read about this in a book by an ex-Mob member, can't remember the name of the book but it was written by Sam and Chuck Guincana (not too sure about the spelling).

Its a long time since I read the book so I'm hazy on the exact details but it was along the lines of JFK being too involved with her, she had fallen in love with him and wasn't going to disappear quietly so the family made sure thats exactly what happened. Apparently JFK was very upset that this action needed to be taken but understood that the involvement of the Kennedy family with her (as she was considered to be very unstable) was going to be detrimental to their political aspirations she had to go.
Nice isn't it? I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the book for you as it was a good one and I would recommend it as an interesting read.

I've seen all the documentaries, and I basically think she was murdered. There was something about her knowing too much of something that Kennedy was involved in. I have also read that she was going to blow the whistle on what she knew, sky high. I suppose the only person that might know what happened now, is Marylin Monroe herself, yes, who is dead.

The way I see it is, there have been quite a few unexplained suicides over the years by extremely well known film stars, and for the verdict to simply come back as suicide, is quite strange, if not very fishy infact.

One thing that does please me, is the fact that there are websites out there that either explain what most likely happened to some of them, or they rationally question everything that happened that day. Marylin's death was quite a shame actually, would have been great to see what she looked like these days, whether she would have bowed down to the pressure of having plastic surgery, or whether she would have been quite content with what she had.

There's also a website that names the man behind the order for the asassination of JFK. It also said that George Bush was embarassed and humiliated when the man who gave the order for JFK's asassination got found out. I would put the link up, but whether the moderators allow this I don't know.

It's fine to link to other sites as long as you're not advertising or selling, or linking to a site that contravenes the T's & C's of this site, e.g. a pornographic web site.

There's very strong evidence, by the way, to suggest that Oswald was indeed JFK's assassin and that he acted alone.

What still isn't clear is his motive. He claimed he was a patsy, so was he used by someone to assassinate JFK, perhaps with the promise of a big reward? Was he betrayed or double-crossed as he fled from the scene of his crime, hoping to be picked up or rescued?

It makes you wonder why Oswald was killed by small-time mobster Jack Ruby. Whatever the truth, the JFK assassination has conspiracy theory written all over it, if only for the bizarre chain of events before and after the murder.

It was said that Marilyn had enough toxins in her body to kill eight horses, and had she started to inject or swallow what killed her, she would never had finished it without passing out first.

Had the Kennedy's anything to do with her dying, then it serves them right for the assasination's, plane crashes etc that followed in there family.

It makes me want to believe in life after death, and that dear Marilyn could have had a hand in what happened since August the 5th 1962, although I do consider her spirit would not have been so angry.

Marilyn was killed by someone, she had an incredibly hard life created by Hollywood who treated her like a puppet, despite her beauty and success, but I don't honestly believe she would have taken her own life despite what she suffered.

They used her for their own entertainment. Her famous skirt up scene in The Seven Year Itch was a 'wrap' (from the days of the silent film's, it stood for 'wind reels and print') after about 97 takes, 37 pairs of knickers or shorts worn by her, and they used the 3rd 'take' for the film!

I agree, if the Kennedy's had anything to do with her death, then who's to say that this wasn't their punishment for their part in what happened to Marilyn Monroe, if they did though. If this had of been today, the fact that she might have had too much toxins in her body to have been able to stay awake to take the drug, would have been thoroughly investigated. But saying this, if she had knew too much as far as anybody high up goes, they still might have just let it drop anyway.
