Who is your favourite fiction author?

Provide the author's name and the title of your favourite book(s) by them. I'd love to find out about other people's favourite novels!
Personally I love (in recent fiction) Jodi Picoult and her novel The Pact.
I also am a huge fan of J R R Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
 
My favorite non-romance fiction writer right now is Sarah Monette. I like her Melusine series. There are only 4 of them, but I was hooked on it from start to finish.

I'm a big fan of Garth Nix. From him, I've read:
Keys to the Kingdom (series)
Shades Children (stand alone book)
The Old Kingdom (series)
The Seventh Tower (series)

I'm also a fan of Eoin Colfer:
Artemis Fowl (series)
The Wish List (stand alone book)
The Supernaturalist (stand alone)

I adored the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling

But perhaps my all time favorite book:

"Born to Rock" by Gordon Korman
It was an AMAZING book. From the minute I picked it up, I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I connected on many levels with this book and found it ( to me ) to be a masterpiece of a novel. Simply spectacular

Libba Bray--Hmm...I love ALL of her books

Meg Cabot--The Princess Diaries

Jeff Kinney--Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Rodrick Rules, and other book but I couldn't remember the title)

Charlaine Harris--Sookie Stackhouse series (too much books in series. Couldn't list 'em)

Stephenie Meyer--The Host (sci-fi romance =^-^= )

Holly Black--Tales of Faerie trilogy (Tithe, Valiant, Ironside)

Eoin Colfer--I loved the Artemis Fowl series! Especially the Time Paradox!

And don't forget...

J.K. Rowling--Harry Potter series (LUVED the ending!!!)
