My favourite of all time is Stephen King. I'm now reading Richard Montanari (crime writer & totally awesome) and also Jeffery Deaver. It would be really nice to hear from other book worms out there on their choices of Author. Are you male or female? I'm female. Thanks :-))
Dustin. Not in England it isn't. It's spelt exactly how i spelt it. Favourite. We live in such a diverse world don't we.
Lilac14. Well said!! your favOUrites (tee hee) are all good :-)

Favorite is spelled without a 'u', just so you "authors" know...http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/favorite

My favourite authors are David eddings, a really good fantasy writer, Stieg Larsson (the girl with the dragon tatoo) is another good crime writer, Cornelia funke, jane Austen and charlotte brontë. And I'm female as well.

George Orwell or perhaps Honoré de Balzac or maybe Gerard de Nerval or then again Kingsley Amis, but now I can't leave out Umberto Eco and I do have a weakness for Shakespeare's plays , oh sorry I think I can't choose beacause I also love Lovecraft & William Styron and ...it is impossible to limit ooneself to one author. The more I read, the less i seem to know.

I don't have a favourite author and I don't think I ever would. That's because there are loads and loads of books I like, and since they've all been written by different people, it kind of makes it hard for me to choose :-]

Favourite is spelt with a "u" actually in Britain.

I cant choose out of my top 3:

Charlie Higson
JK Rowling =D
Alison Croggon
