Who is your Favourite Actor

Hi all,

I was just curious to see all of your opinions on this subject. If you reply, say the name and why they are your favourite.

Mine's Tom Hanks:
After watching 'The Terminal' and 'Saving Private Ryan' both quite recently, I realised how talented he is.

He can take on obscure roles, such as:
Castaway and The Terminal (where he rarely speaks or has a challenging language barrier)

He can do fantastic voiceovers:
Both Toy stories;
Polar express;

Dramas such as:
Forrest Gump;
Appolo 13;

Childrens movies:
BIG;

I have to say that I admire his talent, being able to take on so many different types of role must be a rare quality. How many actors do you know that can star in a comedy childrens film and a war film and still be an awesome performer?

Christian Slater
River Phoenix
Steve Buscemi
Gary Oldman
Christopher Walken
Johnny Depp
Matt Damon
Peter Sarsgaard
Mickey Rourke
Kiefer Sutherland
Alan Rickman
James Dean
Marlon Brando

And special mentions for
Corey F and H- back in the day!

I'm sure theres more but...

Russell Crowe.....a brilliant actor though his recent behaviour and reputation haven`t really endeared him to many......and Samuel L Jackson..a great screen pressence, could you imagine anyone else playing that part in Pulp Fiction.

johnny depp has to be up there too - not least for avoiding the path of taking pretty boy roles that he easily could have, and showing what a great versatile actor he is.

How did it take until posting 29 for anyone to mention the greatest actor ever to have graced the silver screen - Archie Leach (aka Cary Grant!).

Unparalled comic timing (the Awful Truth cracks me up every time), heart rending (can anyone watch Penny Serenade without shedding a tear?) and sauve and sophisticated hero (North by Northwest - in my humble opinion one of the very best films ever made).

And what's more he was British.

Of the modern era I like Johnny Depp and Bruce Willis, and how about Kevin Kline as the most underrated actor!
