Who is your favorite actor or actress, please tell who and why, thanks, my favorite actor is Robert de Niro because of how he depicts Jake La Motta in Raging Bull. Please tell me yours and why. Thanks

John Hurt is my very favourite actor.

Whatever role he takes, I believe him 100%. I have been through agony and ecstasy with him through his roles and every minute has seemed real. He can make me cry with just a look. I especially loved him in a 1999 film called 'All The LIttle Animals'.

Superb actor, superb voice.

Clint Eastwood

Followed him from when i was a little kid watching Rawhide up to the present day.
The word legend is used freely now, but Clint Eastwood is a true movie legend.

Halle Berry

Yes I know she's done crap movies, but when she's good, she's good.
A very sexy lady too, remember the bikini in the Bond movie...phwoar.......:D

I Love Reese Witherspoon (Although haven't actually seen her Oscar winning performance embarrasingly) in everything I've seen her in, she has great comedic timing but is also brilliant in serious roles.

Right now, out of the ladies, I'd go for Frances McDormand, Natalie Portman and Catherine Keener

With the men, it has to be Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson

Matt Damon because his choice of movies to work on is amazing and I love the fact he mostly goes for movies with substance rather than JUST potential blockbusters all of the time (take note brad Pitt).
Actress I love Charlize Theron. This is going to sound weird considering she neeRAB o act diffrent in every movie but in every movie of hers I feel like she puts her signature on it. And there's my essay on my fave actor and actress.

Favourite actresses: CAMERON DIAZ & JENNIFER ANNISTON. I love how completely natural & believable they are, not to mention, sexy! :p I love most, if not, ALL of Cameron Diaz's films - she's so easy & funny to watch! Michelle Pfieffer & Nicole Kidman are up there, too.

Favourite actor: Bruce Willis, Robin Williams & Denzel Washington. Top quality actors!

Oh and forgot to mention Will Smith. Does incredibly unique movies and he's so versatile. He can do so many different genres it's really refreshing.

Has to be Bette Davis, probably the best actress ever. closely followed by Meryl Streep and Emma Thompson.

actor either jack nicholson ( when he's in a film you cant take your eyes off him) or laurence olivier

Johnny Depp, plays quirky and different roles, that I can't imagine anyone else playing.
Cate Blachett, she is luminous on screen and extremely talented.
Laura Linney, extremely natural actress, and very believable,
Morgan Freeman, I think he brings huge integrity to roles he plays.
Philip Seymour Hoffman, again very diverse, and really submerges hismself in whateveer role he chooses.
Meryl Streep, amazing career, and everything she touches seems to turn to gold.

Can't just choose one, so I'm gonna cheat.. I've whittled it down to... 6. :)

Actresses: Meryl Streep is amazing. She can take on any role and even if the script doesn't give her much to work with, turn it into a masterpiece.. Her performance in "Sophie's Choice" is probably the best acting I've ever seen, period.

Cate Blanchett is another fave of mine. She's v. versatile and never fails to convince.. "Notes On A Scandal", "Elizabeth" and "Heaven" are great dramatic performances, but she can also do lighter stuff like "Bandits" v. well..

I think Uma Thurman's v. talented too. It's a shame that she's done so many weak movies.. All the same, the "Kill Bill" movies (especially the second one) and "Tape" show that she's got a lot of depth..

Actors: Cillian Murphy's incredibly talented and deserves so much credit for his almost flawless career choices to date.. He's really got the mix right between Hollywood blockbusters ("Batman", "Red Eye"), and nifty indie films ("Intermission", "Watching The Detectives"). He's really gutsy and will take on anything he views as challenging- "Breakfast On Pluto" is a must-see..

Joseph Gordon-Levitt's a totally under-rated fave of mine. He's consistently chosen roles purely on the basis of their artistic worth, and hasn't really bothered about what's "commercial" at all.. He's given so many outstanding performances over his career to date that it's hard to pick faves.. "Brick" and "Mysterious Skin" defo showcase his ability though..

Christian Bale's brill too, even if he does have an obnoxious off-screen persona. I can't bring myself to watch "American Psycho", but he's been fantastic in more recent movies like "The Prestige", "3:10 to Yuma", "Equilibrium" etc. His commitment to his roles is pretty legendary.
