Who is the June Foray of today?

Yeah, I didn't think about Cree Summer, but the thing with her is that she has such a distinct rasp to her voice you know it's her right off the bat. But she puts so much of a unique character into the vocals of each female she voices she can pull it off.

That wasn't really my intention. I was mainly referring to her voice work on The Simpsons in particular. I do believe MacNeille has decent vocal range, but The Simpsons has her using the same 2 or 3 voices over and over again. I think Speedy Boris hit the nail on the head with his post.

As for Mel Blanc, I personally feel that all of his voices were distinct enough that it wasn't blatantly obvious they were all the same actor. Of course, that's just me.

Cree Summer is one of my favorites, too. To think that before she was TinyToon Adventures' Elmyra Duff, she was Inspector Gadget's niece, Penny. Soon, we should start a thread on Canadian-born voice-actors on U.S. cartoons, and Cree Summer should be included in that thread, along with her father, Don Francks.

She did Todd Daring on "The Replacements." Not like anyone knows what that show is, though...

I voted for Tress. I agree that it gets very annoying that all of her "Simpsons" voices are the same. I can tell by just one word of the mouth of a character- "OH! IT'S TRESS!" But she is a very talented and versatile actress.

Tara Strong is a second favorite, but one of the top choices Grey DeLisle seems to me to just have one same voice. Not very versatile.

Nancy Cartwright comes in on my 3rd. Speaking of "The Replacements," her Todd Daring voice and her Bart voice are so remarkably different, I just had to put her on here for her versatility.

But, hey, isn't June Foray the modern day June Foray?

Thank you, quack-up, for clarifying my point about Tress MacNeille- she's not overused, if she can voice any kind of character, that does make her both talented and versatile. Other actresses do get an honorable mention, but you're right, there's only one June Foray.
