Who is the June Foray of today?

I voted Tress Macnellie. After all, in The Itchy and Scratchy and Pootchie show, she voiced June Bellamy, who was based on June Foray.

Some of those choices seem odd to me, especially Nancy Cartwright. Aside from voices on The Simpsons (and rarely any adult women on that show) what cartoons has she done voices on?
 
But what has Tress MacNeille done lately? Looking at her IMDB page, she has a decent amount of recent roles, but most of them are minor characters and she hasn't been as active as Tara Strong, so I voted for Tara Strong. She has a lot of roles and she does a lot of different voices. I'm still surprised she voiced Spot in 101 Dalmatians: The Series, although I can't put it as eloquently as I.R Joey did back in 2005.
 
You mean which voice actress is heard the most in the industry?

If so, it's easily Grey Delisle. Tara Strong is heard quite often, but Grey is in pretty much EVERYTHING to the point of being grossly overused. She's to the 2000's what Kath Soucie was to the 90's. Tress MacNeille gets the award for most overused voice in the same show. Seriously, does she have to voice 9/10's of the hundreds of females who have ever appeared on The Simpsons?

When it comes to June Foray imitators, I'd say Candi Milo is the industry's go-to gal.



The only other voice I can recall was Chuckie's second voice in Rugrats and All Grown Up.
 
Grey DeLisle.

Her range is just as impressive as that of Miss Foray...and, on a personal note, she can also do a little girl voice that will melt your heart (Young Frankie on "Foster's Home" - can't remember the name of the episode - is just as heavy on the 'awwness' as Cindy Lou Who).
 
Hands down, it's Tress MacNeille. In her 30+ years, doing voice-overs, she's done quite a number of characters. She's also inherited all of Jean Vander Pyl's roles, including Wilma Flintstone. By now, Tress continues to get plenty of fan mail about all the roles that she plays. I sometimes wonder how Roger DeWitt feels about Tress inheriting all of his mother's roles, since Jean Vander Pyl passed away in 1999? Only a few actresses in the cartoon voice-over industry can inherit all the roles of one actress. Well, Tress has kept Jean's spirit alive and well with her performances. Now, as for the modern-day June Foray, there are quite a number of actresses, but clearly, Tress MacNeille tops the list. Perhaps in a future Flintstones project, she and Jeff Bergman will once again be Wilma and Fred, respectively, Frank Welker has been Barney Rubble for many years, and all due respect to Grey Delisle, B.J. Ward is really Betty Rubble. I voted Tress MacNeille as the modern-day June Foray.
 
I would vote for Tress, except she's been doing slight variants of four voices for a decade and a half: Crotchety old ladies, world-weary middle aged women, high-powered businesswomen, and young boys. Seriously, if you watch Simpsons or Futurama regularly, it gets incredibly monotonous when most every secondary female character is voiced by her, and they often sound alike.

I miss her Babs Bunny and Gadget. At least they sounded different from how she would eventually be typecast.
 
Young Frankie appeared in "The Trouble With Scribbles" on season 1.

And I agree Grey DeLisle, I mean, she does Vicky, Kitty Katswell, Frida Suarez, Sam Manson, Mandy, Daphne Blake, Azula, Riley Daring, Portia Gibbons, etc.
 
It'd have to be a tie between Tress MacNeille, Tara Strong, and Grey Delisle. On one hand, Tress voiced a range of characters in the past, whether they're old and cranky (Agnes Skinner) to having a almost completely different voice (Babs Bunny and Dot Warner).

On the other hand, both Tara Strong & Grey Delisle also have the ability to voice a respectable amount of characters. From little girls like Bubbles, boys like Ben Tennyson, to goths like Raven, Tara has quite a vocal range.

Grey Delisle also has a great vocal range, from voicing characters like Wubbzy, Daphne, Vicky and Frankie to cold people such as Mandy. In contrast, both of their voices are very similar and I have quite the trouble telling them apart.
 
I think people are harshing on Tress way too much; even if she uses similar voices, she's still a fantastic actor in every role she's had.

Otherwise, any of these fine ladies would qualify.
 
I agree with you- this theory about Tress MacNeille being used too much is nothing but horse hockey. If she can voice whatever character that she does, more power to her- it's called versatility, something some people don't understand at all. Now, for the fans of Hanna-Barbera cartoons, the spirit of Jean Vander Pyl lives on through Tress MacNeille. After 30+ years, doing cartoon voice-overs, we, as fans, should give her the respect that she rightfully deserves, instead of wasting time criticizing her for being used too much.
 
Grey DeLisle and Tara Strong are who I immediately think of probably due to being two of my favorites. For sheer quantity, I think someone like Cree Summer might be up there as well.
 
How is it versatile when she uses the same handful of voices for all the dozens upon dozens upon dozens of different characters she plays in ONE show? Seriously, watch a couple of Simpsons episodes and count how many nameless female characters have slight variations of her voice.

Don't get me wrong, she's a spectacular voice actress. It's the fault of the voice directors who make her play so many characters.
 
I was going by the definition of changeable, being able to do many things well.

I suppose it's a matter of perspective whether or not one considers using the same 2 or 3 voices over and over again "many things" or not. Personally, I don't.
 
You act as if she isn't versatile at all. When you think about Mel Blanc really only had a handfull of truely different voices. Most of his voices are just slight variations of his own voice pitched up. I mean think about it. Taz, Yosemite Sam, and Sylvester, are all the same voice with slight variations. And Daffy is just his Sylvester voice pitched up. Porky is his normal voice with a stutter pitched up. Speedy is Mel with a Spanish accent, that is actually one of his registers. And Bugs is his other really different voice. Without pitching up, that's only like four or five different voices.
