Who is riding Touring Harley for the first time?

I've had mine for a little over three months and turned 5100 miles on the way to work this morning. I also have a custom that just sits in the garage now.

Got my 2010 EG Ultra one month ago and have 6000 miles on it. Very first HD. Just got back to Nebraska from a two week trip to Sturgis, Seattle and Canada (4600 miles total). No issues at all except this bad boy gets HOT. Melted my Alpine Star riding pants and my rain gear on the right side heat shield...

I picked up my first Harley, an '05 Road King Classic 2 weeks ago. I've ridden it to work every day and the girlfriend and I put 100 miles on it on sunday, just cruising.....WHAT A BLAST!! I am also learning why alot of people ride in long sleeve shirts in So. Cal. I sunburned the hell out of my arms!! LOL!!

Somewhat new to the forum, picked up my new 2010 SG last December. Before that my first HD was a Night Train. While the NT made me feel like a bad A$$ around town it took it's toll on me on those 2-3 hour highway rides. Maybe I'm just getting old......

8,000 on my 2010 Ultra Classic. One 4K trip to Key West via the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway and a 2,400 mile trip to Sturgis. Box stock and NO heat problems on the trip to Key West in 102 to 105 degree temperatures every day for 8 days. In the 90's on the Sturgis trip.

Cat still installed and stock programing. Even in a one hour traffic tie up due to a wreck the engine never went into the mode turning off the rear cyclinder. The heat issue is much overstated from my experience. Sure, exhaust pipes will melt stuff that touches them. So will a exhaust pipe on a water cooled motor.

The only complaint is the gas tank which is a 6 gallon tank. Maybe in the design engineers dream. It will not fill very full and will not draw to fully empty. I was running on the low fuel light for about 15 miles when I pulled into Wall, S.D. and it only took 4.77 gallons. I think the best that can be drawn out of the tank is five gallons. The mileage was poor at an average of 41 mpg.

Traded my '09 Fatboy for a 2010 Road King Classic 2 months ago. The RKC is a big improvement IMO, but the FB was nice. I put 3800 miles on it in 18 mos and have 3600 miles on the Road King in just 2 mos. Love it.
