Who is responsible for buying me a new iPhone?

My teacher confiscated my iPhone and within 10 minutes of her putting it on her desk, someone stole it. I just wanted to know if my school would be responsible for supplying me with a new iPhone. *** I was freaking out because an iPhone 3GS without a plan costs $599 starting.
