My wife was involved in an accident. She was the 4th car in a 5 car pile up. She had damage to her rear bumper and the whole front end of our SUV was tore up. My wife received a tiket for not allowing a safe distance as well as the person behind her. Who is at fault? Whos insurance will pay ?and is there any chance to beat this in court? She said the other cars were not at a complete stop but the 3 others got together prior to state trooper arrival and got there stories straight. They all said they were stopped but she says other wise. Is this worth getting a lawyer. Ps she also had an accident about 3 months ago in the same spot (4th car in the 4 car pile up,she did not even go to court, just paid the fine, and our insurance paid the bill on all 4 cars minus our deductable on our. We live in VA

I have no idea.

you should read about no fault insurance, takes all the expensive suing out of car accidents, makes insurance alot cheaper for everyone.

Being since this is her 2nd pile up in 3 months, chances of beating it in court are pretty slim. The judge will just view her as an unsafe driver.

Your wife is at fault for the front end and the person behind is at fault for her bumper (thats kind of sexual.. anyways). You are ALWAYS responsible if you hit the person infront of you. And it seams as she ran into the cars infront of her but if she kept the 2+ second rule she would have had time to stop, but she must have been too close to the car infront to stop. Same thing with car behind her, if he/she was at a safe distance they would have not hit your wife therfore its their fault. But if the person rammed her from behind, and plowed her (also sexual) into the stopped car infront of her then its the person behind hers fault. Since it her 2nd time with this she needs to back off of peoples ass and let them drive. Now my insurance would pay it all but the payment would rise.

everyone's fault.
nobody knew what to do right in their.
no lawsuit is worth it.
you wont win.
trust me i have been in a 3 car pile up.even tho i didn't do nothing wrong knew of i did some Research and their is alot of things i did not know

Well the truth is that she has the court against her at the moment because of this being her second accident in such a short period of time. There is probablyno point in wasting even more money getting a lawyer when she could pay the fine and get on with it. I myself wouldn't be happy if I was in that situation but if she has comp insurance her SUV should be ok aswell.

sounds like she deserved the ticket cause if she was at a safe distance she wouldn't of hit the guy in front of her. as for everyone else getting together and getting there stories straight sounds like she is paranoid, not worth a lawyer but i would go to court and see if they will drop the points.
