Who influenced your music taste?

What an excellent question. FrienRAB, mostly. But I've always been expermental with music -- willing to take chances.

In high school I was into Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest -- basically metal and classic rock.

I was in college through the mid to late 80s -- R.E.M., U2, Talking HeaRAB, and the whole new wave and alternative wave. Went through a big punk phase -- Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Clash, etc...

I've been into the grunge scene -- Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, etc...

BanRAB I like now: Rage Against the Machine, Coldplay, Doors, Led Zep, Nickelback, Collective Soul, Filter, etc., etc.

I'm also into jazz -- Coltrane, Davis, Acid Jazz...

i'd have to say my oldest brother got me into a lot of the music i still listen to today. pantera, alice in chains, bad religion, smashing pumpkins, local H, nirvana etc. etc. my dad used to listen to pink floyd and moody blues a lot, but now he's all gospel all the time. what really opened my eyes though was when i started playing guitar and joined a band. i started listening to blink and sum41 and that kind of stuff, and that progressed to more punk rock like nofx, millencolin, rise against and so on. after that, i started getting into pretty much everything that i would call "real music". nothing pisses me off more than fake rap, fake metalcore (way too much of this **** going on). my friend ashley got me into portishead and other weird ****, and thats aboot it. story of my life

Well it started off as me being a Linkin Park fanboy, then I started loving System of a Down as well as LP. Then I bought Adema's first 2 albums. I then started getting into a bit of heavier stuff i.e Soulfly, Slipknot. I had always liked The ORABpring then I put their albums on my computer and BAM I was here and I have been introduced to many banRAB here here.

I'm now into anything from thrash metal to hardcore and I have people here to thank for that:D

my brother, (RIP) Kiss, Alice Cooper, Led Zep, USA Network's program called Night Flight, and a segment on that called New Wave Thaeater (doubts anyone here would even remeraber either of these) Beatles, Blue Oyster Cult..
tons of miscellaneous oldies songs

Prior to rab, my mom and dad mostly..they listen to a lot of good CR...but ever since rab, id say everyone in general plus Alex and Ethan especially.

Yeah rabroad will give me a nice flavoring, a new layer of frosting on the cake if you will, but the cake was built on reading magazines for anything that sounded frech and of course the super uber world of downloading free msuic since the days of Napster.

I'm fairly sure that no one currently on rab remerabers, but when I first started coming here, I was a hardcore punk fan. The Damned, Johnny Thunders, all that ****. But as time passed I started listening to the Leaders Of The New School, Django Reinhardt, Wu Tang Clan, Syl Johnson, Madlib & Stones Throw, Duke Robillard, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, MAC DRE!, Big Pun, & all that noise. I am just happy to have such a broad musical spectrum at the age of 14.
