Who here makes their own Saturday/Sunday morning lineups out of their DVD collection?

I've seen a lot of posts talking about the "state" of Saturday Mornings now that most of the Networks have abandoned the practice and I was just wondering with so many classic and modern cartoon and anime series out on DVD who here makes their own Saturday/Sunday Morning Line ups?

Personally, I do it about 3 times a month usually becuase I don't have anything going on in the morning, for instance this weekend my Saturday Morning Line up was:

Transformers:Generation 1
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: 80's series
He-Man & the Masters of the Universe: 2002 series
Darkwing Duck
Sonic The Hedgehog
Gargoyles
and I wrapped it off with the Chipmunk Adventure

My line up for Today is

Josie & the Pussycats
Jem
Voltron
Heathcliff and the Catillac Cats
COPS
Looney Tunes
Legend of Zelda
Batman:The Animated Series
Smurfs
The Real Ghostbusters
Garfield & Friends
and capped it off with the Muppet show

So does anyone else do this or is it just me.

*raises hand*

I started doing this back in 2006, when I realized I wasn't actually watching anything on Saturday mornings anymore. I started off with Digimon Savers, Powerpuff Girls Z, Viewtiful Joe, and Kimba the White Lion, and expanded to a DVD/TV/Computer combo schedule once Saturdays got better. Though, ever since I finally completed Savers and PPGZ last June, the whole thing has been in a bit of a slump, but things might change now that I have a working DVD player in my room again.

My current Saturday morning schedule is this:

7.0 - (I'm usually still asleep at this point now, so I no longer schedule in this spot)
7.5 - Sonic X (TV)
8.0 - Transformers Animated (TV)
8.5 - Viewtiful Joe (DVD)
9.0 - Pokemon (TV)
9.5 - TMNT: Back to the Sewers (TV)
10.0 - TMNT 87' (DVD)
10.5 - Kimba the White Lion (DVD)
11.0 - Hero High (DVD)
11.5 - Lancelot Link (DVD, not animated)
12.0 - Power Rangers RPM (TV, not animated)

I haven't done this yet, but I had considered the idea in the past. I need to get the rest of Darkwing Duck on DVD, along with Tiny Toons and Ducktales, before I'll do it though.

A dorm at my college does this once a quarter where we all watch Saturday morning cartoons in the main lobby.

Cartoons included are usually Ducktales, Talespin, Doug, Gargoyles, Darkwing Duck, and Batman: TAS, to name a few.

I used to have a weekday lineup consisting of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the 80s version) at 3:30, Fraggle Rock at 4:00, and Garfield and Friends at 4:30, but I stop when I relized that I needed to get a life, so now I just watch shows whenever I fell like it...

I did something like this back in 2004/2005 but it wasn't a satAM thing for me, I would pretty much do it randomly throughout the week when I had time to watch my boxed sets. I had a lineup in place and I would switch it around every few months or so, but I have not done that in years, I pretty much watch my collections when I find the time or need, but maybe I will do something like this in the future, maybe on a Sunday afternoon when I have nothing going on.

I guess I use to do something like this a few months ago, except mine was really a 2hr weeknight block since I would watch the dvds when I got home from work at 9:00pm.

It used to consist of;

10.0pm - TMNT 2K3
10.5pm - The Batman
11.0pm - G Gundam
11.5pm - Witchblade

All those DVDs use to be new to me at the time and have since finished them. I haven't really gotten any new DVDs lately so I haven't done this in awhile.

I can't, really. I'm in a different mood for another cartoon each day. One day I'm strictly in the mood to watch Looney Tunes, next day I'm only in the mood for Lantz or Fleischer (there are VERY few days of which I'm in the mood for variety). Thus, I can't exactly have a schedule of different cartoons. =p
Though, if anything, each Saturday composes mainly of Looney Tunes.

Funny you should mention it, as I saw a commercial on Boomerang. They are going to release two Saturday morning DVD compliations tomorow, one of cartoons from the 60's and another of cartoons from the 70's. Most of which are from Hanna Barbera.

I mostly relay on Vid sites and My DvD Collection for my weekend toon wants.

But there are still more classic animation I still haven't gotten yet cause of my current financial issues.

Wish me luck, toonsters!

I've made some Saturday morning line-ups with my DVD collection, a couple of times in 2007.

Lately, I've been making an hour block of two shows, with my DVD collection. Right now, I've been watching an episode of Beast Wars and Teen Titans, each day, six days a week. I don't try this on Saturdays, since my brother and I will be too busy watching the stuff on Adult Swim that day.

Once I'm done watching Beast Wars and Teen Titans, I'm thinking about making an hour block of Magic Knight Rayearth and Wedding Peach. I consider that 90's anime girl power!

I never thought of putting a cartoon marathon for Saturdays or Sundays, but if I wanted to, I would probably do something like this:

I will pack up on T.V. shows for Saturdays, such as:

"Spongebob Squarepants"
"Ed, Edd and Eddy"
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (the original series)
"The Real Ghostbusters"
"Garfield and Friends"
"Looney Tunes"
"Gumby"
"Tiny Toon Adventures"
"Super Mario Bros. Super Show"
"The Legend of Zelda"
"Captain N: the Game Master"
"Family Guy" (early "Family Guy")
"American Dad" (later "American Dad")

Etc

Then I will pack up on movies for Sundays, such as:

The Chipmunk Adventure
Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School
Scooby Doo and the Boo Brothers
Scooby Doo and the Reluctant Werewolf
The Brave Little Toaster
The Last Unicorn
Shrek 2
Shrek
Shrek the Third
Monsters Inc.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit

(and miscellaneous Disney full-length animated features, and many others)

Maybe I will start putting something together, thanks for the idea.

Interesting idea, but guess what? I'm still collecting DVDs. I currently have DVDs from Hanna-Barbera(The Superfriends, Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo. The Smurfs), Ruby-Spears(Alvin & the Chipmunks), Filmation(Tarzan, Lone Ranger, Zorro, Star Trek, Fat Albert, Archies), Depatie-Freleng(Pink Panther), etc. I'm still looking to purchase Plastic Man on DVD, once it comes out. I put together a block of programming on a video cassette, using my DVD collection, and I put it together for a friend and her kids for reminiscent reasons. I think it's a good idea to think these up, but only for the purposes of reminiscing to those days when whatever program that was broadcast on network weekend daytime was must-see TV for kids. Live-action fare that aired during those times could help die-hard fans reminisce as well. That should be the key phrase for this thread- reminisce!

I don't think so when it comes to live shows when Sat morning works best with toons.

But for me, as I said, I'll arrange ONLY toons, no live shows, for my own fantasy Sat. morning programming, mostly in the Filmation vein. That, along with Mister Magoo and Dick Tracy, the toon version.

I don't really do a Saturday morning thing, but...

Since Cartoon Network's been skimping on the anime, I watch two series from my DVD collection on Saturday nights, two episodes of each with the occasional movie in between, before Adult Swim action starts.

I may do this next week on the week days. I will have a schedule like this

5:00 Gurren Laggan
5:30 Neon Genesis Evangelion
6:00 One Piece
6:30 Naruto Shippuden
and when Gurren's done put Azumanga Daioh! in it's place and when Evangelion's done replace it with Pani Poni Dash!

Personally, I don't care for anime- I prefer the animation that we grew up watching. As far as the weekend daytime thing is concerned, like I pointed out earlier, I'm still collecting DVDs, and I assume you're still collecting as well, nothing wrong with that and please, continue doing so. There are all kinds of classics to collect. BTW, I don't plan on restricting my DVD collection to just animation- I plan on collecting some live-action as well, namely by programs, such as Shazam!, Muppet Show, etc. I think it's all about watching whatever makes you happy- I can respect that.
