Stuck at work for the rest of the day. Wondering who has tried the new firmware ("3.0704.1.0.1") on their plain (not IE, not ME) N73.

I'm still running 3.0638.0.0.1. Main complaint is that it LAGS fairly badly. Has anyone tried the v. 3.0704.1.0.1? And can you comment on its speed?

that one just came out (in the last day or two it looks like). can u tell me which version you're running, just type in *#0000#. Mine is pretty laggy in the menues, and especially noticeable when browsing left-right through contacts in address book. it takes like 1.5 seconds for each next contact to appear.

I just updated to this new firmware two days ago. Not happy with it.

First off, my phone now freezes and I cant dial any numbers. I have to hit the menu button then exit out of that and wait a couple seconds. Only then can I dial a number.

The annoying "voicemail" indicator on startup hasnt gone away, nor has the initiation of a voice command making the phone reset stopped.

Also, I find that sometimes now when Im using my bluetooth headset I hear nothing but the call is still going through. I have to hang up and dial again to hear anything.

How can I go back to the last version?>?>

I think HyperM3 needs to do a hard reset.

I had it on my N73 before I got the N75 and found it superior to the previous vanilla firmwares.

Duh, thats what I meant. Thanks.

So I did everything all over again, reformatted my memory card. Did the update. Did the refresh on the phone and updated again.

Still have that stupid voicemail indicator when I boot up. Havent seen if the other stuff keeps happening.

I really like this phone cus its got great voice quality and battery life and the camera is awesome when you need one, even for video. But Im getting tired of the minor glitches.

i dunno waht minor glitches u r tlaking about. i find this phone very very stable. the screen is awsome, i turn the back light to the lowest and the battery simply never die

Got no problems with the screen or the battery, both are awesome. Just the glitches with my voice command resetting the phone everytime. And when my bluetooth headset connects, the screen freezes and I cant dial any numbers. Otherwise I do love the phone.

I believe the VM indicator problem is unique to T-Mobile. I'm not saying it is their fault/problem, but there is a thread that discusses this issue on an E61. Indeed, I have an E61 on T-Mobile, and have the same problem.

I have an N73 on Cingular, and I have no issues.

Hyper, depending on where you bought your phone you may think you have updated your firmware, however you may first need a new product code to do the firmware update effectively. For example I had an O2 handset that was locked around 2.0 something firmware. Obviously this wasn't the latest upgrade... did the vanilla firmware upgrade and slam bam thank you mam - 3.0704.....

I have been running .0704 this week and have had no problems to note. I have had some network busy signals but I don't think thats the phone, just Cingular. I hope :>)
Cheers,
Hutch

Thanks all. I did the update myself about the same day I posted this thread. I've since narrowed some of my lag to the vast amount of address book and calendar data that I have on the phone, which is fine with me.
Otherwise the phone is great.

For the person with the voicemail indicator. Try clearing our your msging inbox, or moving the whole mail folder (not sure if that can be done on a v3 model) to a different spot on your memory card and that should create a new mail folder--see if that helps.

I had a similar problems (also Tmobile) on my 6630, ended up being some corrupted file in my mail folder, on my mem card, that was screwing it up.
