Who has to pay for car inspection during sale to private party?

I had a old 1998 Nissan Sentra. I was trying to sell it for the Kelly Blue Book Price 1400 dollars to a private party. They took two to three test rides.I had told them that the car was rusted(as I had driven it for 3 years in Madison,Wisconsin and now I am in Texas). The other party had a bumper to bumper check done at Firestone. It cost them 100 dollars but in the bumper to bumper check additional engine problems came up,which I was not aware of. So, they cancelled the deal and want me to pay for the bumper to bumper check. Is it fair? Do I have to pay or they are responsible?
Just to correct. They were willing to buy at 400 dollars. But I found someone else who bought it for 700. So, technically I cancelled the deal.
