Who has the best scream in metal?

lolz! I never said I liked Job for a Cowboy you noob. I just said the vocalist eats faces. If you want to look at it as though they kill the actual "scene" go ahead, be pesimistic. When you could be optimistic and see that they are the gateway drug for that type of music like green day. Also I know nothing about how they are trend. It seems that all you get on here for is to point out all the wrong doings that everyone does in your eyes. Nobody really cares go do something productive with your life. And again you're a mod lead by example. Like not getting in an arguement with someone that is oblivious to what you are talking about and promoting what you consider good music. Oh and rise your loathing for scene-sters or hipsters only proves that you have to set social and mental blocks on certain things because it doesn't fit in your world. And there is no need to call me a tool, everyone is a tool in a sense but I'm not going to get into that. You're a tool as much as I am but should it be pointed out. I'm going to go about my oblivious way and finish this album and go watch some Family Guy.

I gotta vote for Ian Gillan and the single best scream is the one that is at the top of "Highway Star" It goes on forever!!
 
High musicianship, complex music, epic songs, concept albums. According to you, they're the prototypical progressive metal band.


They were never "Southern Groove Rock".


It's called Nu-Metal because it's a subgenre of metal. Try to see past the bigotry.
 
I mentioned Calvera because I love his voice:) And Dramien's voice is and always has been awesome

The reason I started this thread is because Soulfly did a song with Corey from Slipknot called Jumpda****up and it was one absolutely awesome song, and they went together perfectly:)
 
1. All those things you mentioned are still subjective. Think it if you want. You're not wrong. But I'm not either.

2. hmmm, Thrash and Groove with a Southern flair to it...wow...should we include such a vital part of their sound in the style...

3. What race am I hating on? And Nu-Alternative is a much more appropriate title for "Nu-Metal"

and I would see them as a Gateway drug. If it worked. But all these kiRAB who jock banRAB like them aren't interested in the music. It's all a fashion show for them. Which is why I hate scensters. We all have our gateway band. I did. But the key is listening to it for the sake of listening to it. Not because you want people on Myspace to think you're hardcore.

Dude. Don't even tell me about "my world". I am the only kid where I live who listens to 90% of what I listen to. Music may show who I am but I get along fine with people who have different taste then me. It's the internet dude. Learn to not take things so seriously.
 
I'm not bothering in looking for the guy's name but the vocalist from Job For Cowboy eats faces for breakfast, and that's earlier than Churck Norris
 
I would actually consider grunge to be a genre. But as far as all of the discussion about labels, there are too many currently. Rock probably has 200 sub-genres, along with metal, alternative, etc. Tool is usualy labeled Progressive/Alternative Metal. AIC...in the 90's....was labeled as Grunge/Metal.
Music evolves. People may not like it, and I can think of alot I don't like, but what is currently fitting into one genre, can change over time.
I think we can all agree that the banRAB being talked about, are some of the greatest.

Note: (No one has to reply saying something about my 200 genres comment. I am merely exaggerating to get my point across.)
 
I like all kinRAB. I even like some Alice In Chains.

but calling something Metal cause it sounRAB "heavy" or different than radio rock is misleading and wrong.

by the by, Bruce Dickinson is one of my favorite vocalist of all time.

Randy Blythe and Phil Anselmo. Don't get me wrong, I like Cradle of Filth and I'm sure that atleast some of you guys may disagree but alot of Dani's screams suck. It sounRAB like someone shot a 7 year old girl in the foot with a nail gun.
