I think Sanath Jayasuriya got it in the mid 1990's so more people started watching it, but from about 2000 on he did nothing worth watching (or very little). Overall Michael Hussey has done more over a longer period.
 
THERE should have been rahul dravid's name i think he is the 6th highest run getter in one dayers his arrival changed the course of one dayers and took them to a peak
