I don't know if this has anything to do with the heatley deal following through. We can't change our cities climate but we can change the viscous wolverine media that has a horrible reputation around the league. We don't need them. We're all educated hockey fans capable of forming our own opinions. We don't need the anouncers telling us who has the puck and what hes doing with it. Just think back to the gretzky days, the media crucified him for marrying an American girl and then he left, like that was anyones business. I don't want to hear about a players personal life anymore than they want me to know about their personal life, even if ales hemsky goes to cuba and knocks up fidel castros grandaughter, I don't want to hear about it hes a hockey player and I just want to watch him play hockey, and if hes playing badly, I watch the games i can figure it out on my own, I don't need a newspaper article or sports cast to help me put 2 and 2 together. I vote that anytime the edmonton media writes a negative article, or an article about a players personal life, everyone writes in a letter of complaint and we force the media to change and maybe Edmonton will be a more desirable place to play in the future
