Who else wants more Star Wars Films?

George originally claimed there were 9 in his "trilogy" once the hype hit. I expect the last 3 will happen after a welcome break (of who knows how long?) - no doubt it'll be set some years after Luke, Han and Leia - I only hope that someone else gets to direct them.

Star Wars wasn't renamed 'Episode IV : A New Hope' until it was re-released in 1978. As for this grand plan of George's, forget it. He's making it up as he goes along. Were Luke and Leia intended to be siblings in ANH? Let's hope not.

There were no books, just a lot of script treatments with various aspects that he would later use in sequels. He claimed there were nine films for many, many years. He's obviously sick of the criticism now to attempt another three.

And, to repeat the above posters, remake the OT? Go away and take a long hard look at yourself. Do you prefer the abomination is the prequel trilogy?

I dont want to see any more Star Wars films, but I wont be surprised if Lucas re-releases the films again after editing them, adding new special effects plus various other bits and pieces.

Everytime Lucas makes a new Star Wars movie he does get the odd critic but every movie is always a huge success.

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
Budget $115,000,000
Worldwide Box Office $922,379,000

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones
Budget $120,000,000
Worldwide Box Office $648,200,000

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Budget $115,000,000
Worldwide Box Office $847,262,555

I would love to see more and I am sure every other Star Wars fan would too.

Well in the Revnge of the Sith DVD there is a small bit of a digital replaced Yoda in the Phantom Menace. SO the chances are that will come out with the rumoured 6 disk boxset that will eventually happen.

Box office isn't necessarily an indication of quality otherwise The Pacifier would be hailed as a masterpiece! The Star Wars name alone is always going to be strong enough to get bums on seats.
And the series has had more than the 'odd critic' especially the prequels.
I'm looking forward to the TV series. It would be nice if the rumours of Kevin Smith's involvement were true but I doubt it.

They story on Star Wars was orignally going to be spread over 9 films, but int he end before the films were amde Lucas cut it down and put it into three.

The originals should never be remade.

Events between episode 3 and 4 are going to be shown in a TV Series, although I'm not sure if its confirmed as the time period. It will concentrate on a character who has been in the movies, but wasn't a major part of the movies.

I would be willing to see new Star Wars movies. After seeing episode 3 it made me want more. But I'm not sure if it will ever happen.

I'd like to see more Star Wars movies. It gives us a more in-depth view into the vast Star Wars universe.

Critics who spend much of their time slating the prequels could stick to the originals and not bother watching the new ones.

Lucas must be a little tempted to give us 7, 8 and 9. He has the money to finance them and the fan base to watch them.

but not the actors,

lucas knows exactly what 7,8 and 9 are about and he would need all the original cast back, and they wont do it.

and hes also said hes too tired as they take too much out of him

I and a MASSIVE Star Wars fan (in type, not in size) and I REALLY don't want any more. Those box office receipts are partly because there are people like me who go to see it at the cinema, think it CAN'T have been that bad, go to see it again, realize it WAS that bad. Moan on the internet/in the pub/at our mates/wives/girlfrienRAB for a few weeks/months/years. Then buy the DVD, because the pain has numbed, buy some merchandise, think the next one can't be THAT bad, get kicked in the guts AGAIN by Lucasfilm, and then say "Give me some more please Mr. Lucas, sir".

The Original Trilogy were fantastic, the PT were a mess. ROTS was okay, but only because fans had such low standarRAB after Menace (spit) and Clones (meh).

Please, I don't want to suffer from the involuntary spasms that make me randomly throw any more money at Lucasfilm in return for bad movies. Please, no more SW movies.

I'd sort of like to see 7,8,9 but not without the original cast... and you then also have the problem that that story has been written in Heir to the Empire, so Lucas would have to trample all over that for him to write it in 'his vision'.

But surely more Star Wars movies would be good for the fans who want to see them. Fans who absolutely hated the prequels should avoid them like the plague.

I didn't like the prequels as much as the original trilogy but still would like more. Lucas will get bored in about 5 years time and may be persuaded to churn out a few more. If Mark Hamil et al don't want to be involved he could always CGI their characters, though that may be getting a bit too carried away. Spielberg has always wanted to direct a Star Wars movie, give him the opportunity.

More choice to the fans who want more I say.

In a perfect world, yes. But seeing slapstick cartoony crud like the first two prequels with the 'Star Wars' name on them hurts my brain and could make this 30 year old man cry openly.

A lot.

To quote Tim Bisley in TV show Spaced:

"You are so blind, you so do not understand, you weren't there at the beginning, you don't know how good it was, this is it for you, this jumped up fireworks display of a toy advert! People like you make me sick! Now I don't care if you've saved up all your 50p's, take your pocket money AND GET OUT!!!!"

That is, of course, nothing compared to the incandescent rage the careless use of the worRAB "menace" and "phantom" in the same sentence senRAB my g/f into.... Not a pretty site, I can assure.

George Lucas is. He owns our souls. His prequels mock us us from the shelves of video stores and toy-shops, like unruly step-children, teasing from across the street. Throwing insults and goading us. We know they only want the attention, we know we should "just ignore them" because its "not worth it".... but dammit it's just so difficult to rise above it. :(

Critics who did not enjoy the Phantom Menace but felt obligated to watch the other two. Then surprise, surprise they didn't like those either.
