he was voted to be president because he is african american and not because everyone believes in what he says, he is for abortion and is now setting terrorists free on our world!

I think he won for many reasons. Him being black and therefore a minority played a huge part. It gave people hope. Of course by assuming that minorities CAN'T make it big is somewhat discriminative in itself.

Yes, and he said everything the sheep wanted to hear... He had good coaching.. and he did as he was told.. He was a good boy...

i do.i belive the only reason everyone voted for him is for this "change" which is a black president. i don't mean to sound like an asshole. but seriously name two things he has done for this country. change isn't in the color of skin.

Really?Being an African American was a requirement to be president? He seems to be qualified enough to be president (remember: Bush was qualified).

Actually he is president DESPITE being an African-American, look in the mirror to understand my answer.

Barry O got the lib media behind him so even though he is pro-death, he could not lose.

he got the black vote based on his color and if they will never admit it, heck i would admit it if a white has never been president and then one comes up you know im voting for him because he is white

But the GOP keeps saying he's not black. You people are confusing me.Blacks have always voted Democrat. Shut up M&M you old hag.

Honestly...if a white first term Senator from Montana named Jim Smith ran for President on a Jimmy Carter 2.0 platform...the election would've been Hillary v. John.

Personally, I think it may have influenced it, but I don't think it is the main cause. Down in the south which is notorious for white supremacy he got the votes, strictly because of the political party he was in, not his race. But yes I think alot of people only voted for him to see a black president, I will agree with that. Not only that, but McCain seemed like Bush all over again, and one was enough. Everyone can agree Obama would have been alot better than Bush, McCain, not so much.

Nah. He won because we've had eight years of a Republican in office. The American people just go back and forth - Republican, Democrat, Democrat, Republican. It will continue so as long as people are only willing to vote for one of two parties. All the best.

The Republicans really messed up their shot of winning with the choices they made throughout the campaign. I think a series of huge mistakes by Bush also pushed the public towards seeking a new party and a different leader who could offer a sense of hope in hard times. Obama did that very well. The problem now is for him to keep all the empty promises he made during his campaign. An even bigger problem is going to be when people see in the coming years that nothing is changing as quickly as promised. Obama can't magically fix our economy overnight and I really believe a majority of supporters believe that. I voted for Obama, but only because I believe he is the lesser of two evils. I'm interested to see what he will do and trying to not be too worried about the socialism aspect of his plans and the bills that will be needed to be paid with higher taxes.
