I've owned my 2008 Honda Civic for less than 8 months and have had to replace both side mirrors. The first time, I didn't leave enough room when backing out of my garage. The second time, the car slid on ice as I was pulling into the garage. Both times, I just tapped the mirrors. The mirrors seem to be held in place by two plastic pieces and a cable. The problem, as I see it, is that the mirrors aren't hinged. According to the rep. at my dealership, Honda no longer makes hinged side mirrors. I feel that this is a defect. Anyone else feel the same?
