Okay, so I live in a neighborhood right next to a high school. There are four streets around the high school. Two of the streets are very busy 6 lane streets, the other two are 2 lane residential roads (normal speed limit of 25, school speed limit of 20). Everyday when I come home for lunch, these delightful high school students are going probably two to three times the speed limit down the residential roads. There are speed traps and police officers on the other two roads (the busy streets), but no one is on any of these little roads that the students like to race down. Yesterday I saw one of these fine citizens run over a cat (on accident, but if he hadn't been going so blindingly quick down the street, it wouldn't have happened). It's a very quiet, very peaceful, very full of small children neighborhood. Now, I'm 28 and have never in my life called to complain about anyone to anyone else. So would I call the school? Would I contact the police department and suggest they have an officer sitting at the little residential intersection (the one where they all ignore the stop signs) they love to race through?
Like I said, usually I don't complain about stuff like this, but this is just getting ridiculous. I've been here for 4 years and it just gets worse and worse. I put up with them throwing their fast food trash in our (mine and neighbors') yards, being loud and obnoxious (they're teens), but this is just super dangerous. The residential roads are short enough where it takes about 30 seconds to drive through if you're going the regular speed limit.
What would you do?

Okay, I call the police department. Then I emailed a captain (that's who they told me to) about it, and then I sent a just fyi to the principal (seems like a nice guy, just started this job). All very polite of course. And I just had to add something about the trash to the principal. My neighbor was just cleaning food out of her pool from them throwing it over the fence. Thanks guys.
