My husband and I are relatively new homeowners. The man who owned the house before us was really into quick fixes that look great at the time and we are paying big time now for his attitude. Here are some of the basic issues:
The neighborhood is surrounded by oak trees and instead of mulching most of the flower beds, the previous owner grew ivy in a few of the beds and planted hardy bushes and grasses in the other beds and surrounded them with these stupid little stones. My problem is that I'm having a really hard time removing dead leaves from ALL of these beds.
Eventually, I want to remove the stones and quite a bit of the ivy, but how do I get the leaves out without taking pebbles and ivy along with them in the mean time?
