Who are your role models for masculinity/femininity?

Masculine men: Alexander the Great, Bill Clinton, Ryan Reynolds, Dad and Grandpa.
Feminine men: John Lennon. (his feminine side at least)

Masculine women: None. :(
Feminine women: Mom, Grandma, a couple aunts, Hillary Clinton, Marie Antoinette, and a few friends that are women.

I admire Florence Nightingale. She was essential in sanitation reform.
I also admire Harriet Beecher Stowe because she's "The little lady who made this big war."

They both are so feminine, somehow.

My mother and father were both good role models for me... I'd even go as far as to say that most of what Gender Studies believes as "feminism", is a lot of what my father taught me.

He always told me that I needed to get an education, because you don't want to be dependent on someone else for the rest of your life.

He taught me how to drive a manual transmission, because "...you should know how to drive any vehicle."

They both taught me mostly by example. They were hard workers, early risers, friendly, fair [lol...most of the time =) I remember getting a few unjust whoopins], quick to apologize when they were wrong, entertaining, fun loving, life loving great people... Well, my Mom still is. Rest in peace Dad... I love you ='(

role model for femininity: johnny weir lol jk female celebrities
role model for masculinity: none i don't want to be masculine in any way

Daniel Goleman, a speaker on behalf of emotional intelligence. I refrain from the stereotypical form of masculinity. My body produces the right ratio of testosterone:estrogen so I am secure with who I am. I am more about being sensitive and helping others regardless of their gender.

One female example - Amy Goodman because she's a brilliant journalist. I like people with a healthy brain. I don't know that she's my role model for femininity though. I don't pick them that way.

Another, Mother Theresa, because she was humble. She said stuff like "I won't march against war, but I will march for peace." Just the way she saw things. Plus, even though she was Catholic, I remember her taking care of a bunch of gay men who had aids when no one wanted to do anything with them. That's admirable since probably she was against homosexuality.

Another - Audrey Hepburn - class, grace, hard worker, inner beauty.

Male - one example - Michael Jordan. He didn't make the team the first time he tried. He has some quotes that inspire me.

Another - George Carlin. I miss Carlin. He was brilliant man.

Jack - you are one of the few people I know who knows of Goleman's work. Impressive. ;-)

Vladimir Putin. One of the most powerful men in modern history politically. He knows how to pilot fighter jets and has killed a medium sized black bear with just a commando knife. His badassery knows no limits.
