Who are the worse parents?

Its Between the parents of Timmy Turner and the parents of the Rugrats.

Well I think that leaving your babies unattended is worse than leaving your child with an evil babysitter, so I think the Rugrat parents are the worse.

Of course it is only my opinion.

Timmy's parents of course. They treat Timmy lower than dirt. Sometimes they even forget his name. At least the parents in Rugrats care deeply for their children.

But what kind of horrible parents leave babies of the ages 0 - 2 alone, and let them roam around many different places...

Stew couldn't even recognize Tommy and Chucky at the toy story when he left them there when they replaced themselves with dolls

I gotta say the Rugrat parents mostly because they seem to always leave their children as they wander off doing who knows what. Timmy's parents are set in a world full of stupid adults so it kind of just works like that.

Well though The Rugrats parents are simply absent minded and leave they're kids around to get into who knows what kind of trouble, Timmy's Parents actually not only became absent minded but also pretty absuive. (Take for example one of the later eps where they stomp on Timmy without a second care and walk along like nothing happened). This topic has been broached before on this forum and the conensus was that Timmy's Parents are worse though they're far too unrealistiic to take seriously (then again how serious can you take babies getting into the stuff the Rugrats would get into some of the time?). So I say Timmy's parents are overall worse then the Rugrats parents. IMHO anyway.

I don't think so. Look, his parents hired an evil babysitter, who often abuses Timmy. Makes him do work, has weapons of torture to use on him, and blames him for everything she does wrong, like break the $1 vase Timmy's parents bought (with $50,000 insurance.)

I haven't heard someone use the term "age 0", because usually before your 1st birthday you are _ months old. Anyways, that doesn't have anything to do with Stu and Didi's parenting skills. Most of the time, the babies are in the backyard in full view of an adult. The adventures they have are often their imagination. Think The Backyardigans. They never leave their backyard even though it seems like they're in an Egyptian desert or in the Arctic. It's called imagination (that SB episode comes to mind.)

Sure, the babies often get away. But again, usually they are in the house somewhere. On the occasion they are alone in some place other than a house or backyard, an adult is somewhere nearby. Rugrats Go Wild was on today and the babies were in the jungle - alone and at the risk of being eaten by a leopard I think it was. That's one of the few times I can think of that actually has the babies in immediate danger (they were also lost in the woods somewhere in The Rugrats Movie but were their parents worried? Yes! They went looking for them!). Not to mention the fact all the parents care and love their children. Timmy's dad and mom are easily replaceable by Cosmo and Wanda (and have a couple of times), not to mention they care more for Timmy than his real parents ever do (even Cosmo, who's a complete idiot.) Timmy's parents don't know about Vicky being evil (I think they realized it in Channel Chasers, but I don't think they did anything to get rid of Vicky. But there's a new FOP episode where apparently Vicky is fired. Let's see how long that lasts.)

So in the end, Tommy, Chuckie, Dil, Phil, Lil, Kimi, Susie and Angelica all have loving parents. Timmy on the other hand has parents who barely remember his name.

EDIT:

That reminds of the time Timmy's parents used Timmy as some kind of tool. His mom used him to make rows for her garden (and complained when they weren't quite right. Get a real gardening tool, lady) and his dad used him to clean out the gutters in the same episode (I'm pretty sure.)

Actually in "Channel Chasers" they were going to fire and get rid of Vicky for all the abuse they did to Timmy, but Timmy wished everyone would forget about what happened in the movie, wanting to keep Vicky so he would be miserable and have a better chance of keeping his godparents. It wasn't the best reason (especially when there are later epsiodes where Timmy tries to get rid of Vicky even though he lost his best chance to do it already) but it wasn't his parents fault at all she's still around.

Well actually Timmy's parents love him... you know like 20% of the time when they have to learn a lesson about it or it's part of the plot. But it dosen't actually come across as real most of the time. Actually only a couple of times in season one and in the first two movies did it actually come across that they actually love him. Other times they're like "who cares?" (Which they've actually said sadly enough. See "School's Out" if you don't beleive me).

Oh my gosh.....TIMMY'S parents are the WORST EVER........99% unloving, neglectful, leaving their son with an ABUSIVE person, who would do ANYTHING to hurt him, no matter what....(whether it be physically or mentally....I could give examples, but I won't right now....) ....caring MUCH more about what THEY want to do rather than what HE would want to do and basically even denying they even HAD him! I'm sorry, but I have NEVER really been a fan of Timmy's parents, as they are nitwits....(as Timmy himself said to Vicky in one episode, "You're lucky my parents are nitwits."........he certainly hit the nail on the head there. I just find Timmy's parents to be EXTREMELY selfish and not really loving at all...God, no wonder Timmy has Fairy Godparents. Just my opinion. I just don't like Timmy's parents. And I just had WISHED so hard that at SOME point in the series, Chip Skylark could take care of Timmy instead of that B**** Vicky. Because At LEAST Chip Skylark proved to be a person who at least treated Timmy like a human being!

looks like Timmy's parents won the contest of the worse parents

I don't saw Rugrats but I could mention the parents of Mikey Simon in Kappa Mikey, when Mikey try to phone them, his parents wasn't there and always let a message on the phone tape. Then they wanted to visit Mikey in Japan but they changed their minds.

Timmy's parents are definitely worse. Sure, the parents of the Rugrats have left their children alone, but they're usually either in their backyard, a playpen or in the living room of one of their houses. There have been times where they're exploring on their own, like when they went to the mall or were trapped in the toy store, and other times where their lives were in danger, as what happens in pretty much all of the movies. But when that happens, the parents freak out, rightfully so I might add. They worry about their babies and rush to get them back. In some cases, they may be gulity of being absent minded, but they almost always realize the problem and quickly try to get the babies.

As for Timmy's parents, they're so mean to Timmy. They constantly poke fun at him, act way too clueless about how absuvie Vickey is and basically treat Timmy like dirt. You could argue that their behavior is like a gag of the show, especially with how clueless they are for Vickey, but that still doesn't change how rude they are to Timmy. They rarely tell him that they love him and when that does happen its only if it works for the plot of the episode/movie. At least you can tell that the parents of the Rugrats that they love their children at pretty much any moment.

They've said "we love you Timmy" at least once. But it worked for the episode's plot like Light Lucario said. I think it was something about Timmy's parents blocking the TV and eat spinach and they said that "we do the things we do because we love you". But maybe I'm just making that up. But I can clearly remember Timmy's mom saying something like that at least once.

EDIT:

Tell me that you've seen Rugrats at least once! Hurry to TurboNick now!

Well, The Cartoon, is 100% better? **SIGH** Anyway, SAYING you love someone is usually not good enough, especially for parents...It seems to me that they could SHOW Timmy that they REALLY love him, would do ANYTHING for him that they needed to do for him, NOT leaving their ONLY CHILD with a B****, but rather, APPRECIATE him, and not mock him, make fun of him, insult him, and just basically behave as though he really didn't exist...Do they ever really give Timmy the love he REALLY needs and are they ever REALLY sympathetic to Timmy when he REALLY has problems? No, uh-UH, Timmy's parents are NO good. Sorry. They're absolute twits.

It's really easy to answer Timmy's Parents.

The thing is, in order for the premise of the series to work, Timmy's Parents HAVE to be bad parents. There's no other way around it. I also believe that their negligence works most of the time for comedic purposes, as I never feel sorry for Timmy since most of the time he deserves what he gets.

I think the Turners. I mean, they actually believe the 'Uh... Internet?' excuse? Besides, at least Mrs.Pickles is all 'Dr.*Name* knows best!' and tries to do some stuff.
