Who are some people who have made an impact on our world/ or cultures?

Okay, for one of my classes I have to write an seven page essay on someone who has had an impact on our world/ or culture.. and I need some ideas.
Here's the catch though, there are 165 students doing this project and we all have to have different people, so it can't be someone well heard of. It needs to be creative, and I need to be able to find information on them at the library.
Any suggestions?

The African negroes - they got enslaved.

The Japanese - they got nuked.

The Irish - they got drunk.
