It is built on the same chassis as the Grand Am. I have an 04 Grand AM GT/SE with 120,000 miles. it has been a good car.
I am not impressed with the ride (noisy and rough), gas milage has been average at about 24.5. Maintainence has been average at best.
If you bought the model with the bigger tires and stiffer suspension will find the handling better. There is a "sound suppressor" coating you can have sprayed on the undercarriage and frame that helps insulate out the road noise.

My best friend (19) has a 2008 model and I (also 19) have driven it a few times. I actually really liked it and I usually prefer larger cars or trucks. It's a cute little car.

I kike them. Alot of people don't know the Pontiac Vibe is actually a Toyota Corrola/Matrix.
