It is safer, that's all that really matters. Any other benefit is a plus, and there are several. The racing action has been awesome this year. The way the bumpers line up eliminates a lot of spins and wrecks that occured from the back end getting lifted up with contact from the car behind. This makes the drivers set up their passes and have to execute a plan of attack. The bump and run used to me more like the bump and dump. I also appreciate the fact that these cars can be saved in situations where the old one couldn't. The rear wing seems to really help keep the back end of the car where it's supposed to be, behind it. It has made the playing field more level, to a degree, and taken away the argument that one manufacturer has an aerodynamic advantage over the others. Eventually it will help teams save money even though that is not the case initially. I like what it is doing for the drivers and racing in general and I agree with your opinion.
