i mean seriously people it aint a sport
CHEERLEADING IS MORE LIKE ENTERTAINMENT like during a real sport like basketball

Okay,
you seriously cannot say it's not a sport unless you have tried it.
Before i became a cheerleader, i hated all cheerleaders and completely repelled the idea of even becoming one.
But anyways, here is my argument...
Reasons WHY Cheerleading is a sport:
1) We work just as hard as everyone else. We have long practices, we have to go to camp, we have to have very tight moves, we have to work out just as often (if not more) than most sports.

2) And yes, Cheer mostly is entertainment, but we have competition cheer too, and believe me, it's the hardest thing to win at.

3) Being a cheerleader is a commitment. If you have your whole dance down to a tee and someone gets sick or gets hurt then you have to re-do the entire dance. Sometimes you only have 5 minutes or so to do this.

I could really go on forever about why cheer is a sport, but i dont feel like typing the reasons. So you'll just have to trust me on this.
So before you say that cheer isn't a sport, ask around. Ask the cheerleaders. they will most definitely tell you otherwise.

Oh and you probably wont pick this as your best answer because it's not what you wanted to hear, but i wanted to state my case anyways.

how can you say that cheerleading is not a sport. when a sport by definition is "an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature" are you saying that cheerleading doesn't require skill? guess again. I'd like to see you do a toe touch back hand spring layout tuck? Or are you saying cheerleading isn't competitive? and if you play basketball or some other sport, how about you stop tossing them balls around and try tossing a person? there's a little more talent needed in cheerleading and most sports out there. lets be perfectly honest here. what happens when you mess up in most sports? aw you didn't get the point... boo hoo. if a cheerleader messes up, there can be serious injury and even death. also if cheerleading isn't a sport, then what is it on ESPN's most difficult sports list? So next time you're flipping the channels and there's a cheerleading comp. on. how about you actually watch it. just watch 2 minutes and 30 seconds. and then try and say cheerleading isn't a sport...

hmmmmm

not cool enough to be a sport, true enough, though hot, but it is
it demands gymnastics and aerobics, plus the strenght for them

oh my gosh! why r people sooooo ignorant, cheer leading is a sport! have people just been living under a rock for the past few decades?!?!? it has changed A LOT! there is stunting, which requires an incredible amount of strength, and tumbling, and dancing, and dancing is also a sport! it takes a lot of hard work, and on top of that, u have to be synchronized, and look happy even if it has been the worst day of your life. search top gun worlds on you tube, and tell me that's not a sport!

Trust me i pretty well hate most cheerleaders of this world, but cheerleadning is absolutely a sport. it's athletically challenging, competitive, and a team activity that facilitates camaraderie just like any other sport.
