Whitechapel - Series 2

loved the way the young copper on his moped was dressed like some sixties extra. Helped to set the tone. Striping sounRAB a bit painful though!
 
The first series was a hard-hitting, intense thriller. This one has more humour in it and doesn't take itself seriously. It's a bit bonkers really, but quite enjoyable nevertheless!
 
I was watching on Virgin cable in Scotland (STV HD channel) and the pic froze for around a minute just before the twins shot up the boozer. No sound either during the picture freeze.

Anyone else have the same problem?

If you start going north from hampshire...then turn right instead of left....and you've clicked on the wrong place name on your satnav ....we've all done it!
 
I didn't see the first series but this is a bit odd, it doesn't seem to be modern day.

Were all the same characters in the first series?
 
I'm looking forward to this. I became really hooked on the last series even though I started out as lukewarm about yet another JtR story. The Kray story is fascinating and Craig Parkinson looks menacing as the twins.
 
I enjoyed this but due to the explicit nature of the advert promoting the programme we knew that the twins Jimmy and Johnny were involved in the emulation of the Krays. From the promo I recognised them working in the office in the guise of builders. If they're going to advertise programmes I don't think it's good to make the entire first episode redundant with the inclusion of such details in the promo.
 
Royston Vasey is the fictional town in League Of Gentlemen, as well as (non-coincidentally...) Roy Chuby Brown's real name.

As for Whitechapel, it was enjoyable enough. I didn't see the first series, so I was worried I might end up confused, but it seems like this series works standalone. I'm surprised that people might be confused about when it was set; the mobile phones and cars make it fairly obvious. (Although I did think the detective's office looked more like something out of Life On Mars or Red Riding than how I imagine the real thing would look like these days, but maybe that was intentional.)
 
I thought the first series was enjoyable hokum and the second series looks like it's going to be even more daft (but amusing).
 
Totally agree when the plot about them actually being Krays sons came out we were all open mouth with disbelief - complete and utter fantasy and enough to stop me watching.
