The civilizations of Nubia and Egypt. It brought very fertile soil that helped the civilizations prosper.

Unpredictable flooding of the Nile proved disastrous for early agriculture. There is some debate as to who the first people to accurately chart Nile flooding were. I would google Nile floods for this controversy. Some of the peoples affected were the Hittites in the north and the kingdom of Kush to the south, as well as those we call Egyptians in the Nile valley proper.
