While not teaching religion, shouldn't our History classes reveal the vile

history of Christianity to our kids? Evil should not be hidden from children under the guise that we are guarding them from false teachings in school.
 
Exactly.
MICHAELM.... If you didn't learn about other tyrants, then what were you doing attending that school instead of a real school?mmmmmmmm. Funny how that sounds isn't it?
 
I transferred from a public school to a Christian school last year, and at that Christian school I was taught all about the Crusades and how awful they were. What we weren't taught about were people like Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc., etc. Funny how that works, isn't it?

EDIT: The social studies class I took was called "Global Issues". It dealt with things like poverty, world hunger, terrorism, deforestation, global warming, war, drug trafficking, etc., etc. - issues that are currently affecting the world negatively today. (Hence the name "Global Issues".) I did, however, learn about the crusades in my religion class. It was called "Church History". You can't very well learn about the history of the church without learning about the Crusades, now can you?
 
Any kind of extreme vileness in history can be taught. But please do not lose sight of the many things that Christianity has brought to mankind. Democracy is one of many positive contributions of Christianity.

Please do not 'paint' all Christians with the same brush. Many of the U.S. presidents were Christians. eg. Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, All the 'fathers of the Constitution' were Christian.

Yes! Many atrocities were committed by 'so called hypocritical Christians' in the name of the Prince of Peace. Do not hate Christ because of some of his (demented followers). :D
 
I don't think they're Allow to teach Religion in schools Maybe It's history and that it. by the way what do you mean Evil. what Evil You're talking about?
 
Be sure not to forget the political behind the scene control, like 9/11 while your at it. Both world wars, middle east conflict, etc., remember, politically controlled.French-Indian war, Civil War, etc., The vile history of greed, and power, through the Illuminate, which controls the world. and the federal reserve board.
 
I think they go over religious persecution in schools. I know my school did and hell, were a catholic school. Probably a fourth of World cultures was talking about how the Christians destroyed this religion in this horrifying way, or look this is the torture device they used.
 
I have a better idea....why don't we show a lot of videos of the rapes, murders, people being chopped into pieces, robberies, etc. etc.....all because so many people DON'T have Jesus in their lives.

No Christianity equals MORE evil in the world, I can promise you that.
 
They should be taught that Christianity brought modern science, hospitals, charity to the poor, stopped the killing of newborn infants, elevated the status of women, etc.
 
Were you home schooled or something? Most of us were taught about the Inquisition and Crusades

Some of us don't continue to dwell on events that occurred hundreds of years ago though....
