Which would you consider to be the most physical American sport?

1) Football

2) Hockey

3) Boxing

4) wrestling

5) UFC or mixed martial arts

All of these sprts involve a great deal of contact. I would have to say that mixed martial arts is the most physical. Those guys almost always get bloody.

I would say Hockey would beat football in that category. Hockey is extremely physical, and there is always a risk of a puck hitting you at over 100 mph or getting ran over by a skate.

so my 2 top picks would be martial arts followed by hockey. Boxing is more about endurance, and wrestling is more about technique.
In boxing, or wrestling it is highly unlikely that someone would end up with a broken leg, or arm.

Those are everyday concerns in football and hockey.
Well, the reason I separated Boxing and wrestling from MMA is because they are considered to be different sports.

MMA is pretty much full contact. Boxing and wrestling both have rules that exclude far more physical contact.

So I would consider football and hockey to more physical than those 2 because of the risk of serious injury.
lol... Uhhhh Yeah! Ok. Could you imagine Tiger Woods in a UFC match? I think he might last 3 or 4 seconds.

MMA, hands down, no debate...boxing and wrestling are a part of MMA

1 MMA
2 wrestling
3 boxing
4 football
5 hockey

I think all 5 are some of the most entertaining other than women's gymnastics and basketball. (yet the only TRUE American sports on here is football and basketball; nothing against baseball...love to play but kind of boring to watch

UFC/Mixed Martial Arts is very physical. In order to get in the UFC, you have to do a bunch of tests and courses to prove yourself worthy. And you'll get your ass whooped hard If you don't exercise as good.
