Which Version of First Gundam events are your favorites?!

Guh, terribly wording in the title. Forgive me.

Anyhow, First Gundam turns thirty this year, and in the thirty years since the first television series hit, the same story has had many different retellings. With certain elements changed or erased amongst different retellings, I was wondering what you all though were the best handlings amongst the different tellings or might have even been done better?

For example, one of my favorite changes made by The Origin was giving the White Base a full team of Guncannons and Guntanks to help the Gundam out. Seven suits (not sure if they began to drop like flies or not) gave a little bit more realism to the White Base's operations, and also allowed for more in-depth battles.

Something I also appreciate is how the Gundam modules were replaced in the movies. Now, I love the G-Bull in Gundam v. Zeta Gundam, but damned if clunky transformations on the middle of a battle zone aren't rediculous. Personally, I think the Core Boosters--while certainly a better replacement--probably could be swapped out again with more Guncannons or GMs. I don't know how The Origin handled it, but I'm pretty sure the the G-Modules were dumped.

And goodness sake, was I glad the films dropped the Guntank in the third film. Personally, I think corabing with The Origin, a full six team of Guncannons led by Sleggar would be kick ass (and exploring how Kai would feel about not being assigned team leader).

Anyhow, I've rarabled along far too much, so have fun~!

Another change I loved was how they replaced the silly heat-resistant film or whatever with the Gundam simply using its shield for reentry. Funny how later series really take the whole reentry thing for granted.

On the subject of the G-Armor, am I the only one who'd like to see a "what if?" redesign where it functions more like the G-Defenser or the 0-Raiser?

Never read Origin, so I'll cast my vote for the movie trilogy. Gundam neeRAB more maneuverable fighter jet-type machines, not less.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about the re-entry. In The Origin Amuro hides behind the White Base as it's entering, which I think is slightly less rediculous but I like the movie's version just as much.

EDIT: Redesign of the G-Armor? Sure, why not.

Actually, their absence makes sense. Fighter jets are obsolete due to radar being useless thanks to Minovsky particles. Plus, you have a vehicle that can only fire straight forward, which is kinda pointless against a machine with a full 360-degree range of attack that, by later series, is just as fast and maneuverable.
